My understanding is that to plead and pled are commonly used, but the most technically accurate formulation is “to enter a plea” and “entered a plea.” I think the verb form is considered a neologism. (I recall looking this up a few years ago when clerking for a judge.)

The objective meaninglessness you describe could be extended to most compensation/reward/advancement systems in place in video games or, hell, throughout our social lives

This scenario, and the music he set it to, actually feels very consistent with the post-Fallout-3 universe

Would I like this if I didn’t like 4? In that game: I didn’t like the camera, the lack of an enticing progression system, the button mashy controls, and I gave up when I lost to an early boss and was expected to replay, I think, the whole level?

By 2019 standards I hate that face! It reminds me of driving by daycares or children’s barbers in Miami as a kid, and probably someone’s uncle who was a painter had drawn the cartoon characters on the side of the building, always these super-deformed versions of Mickey or Kermit or whatever. This looks like that!

I suppose it depends on your tolerance for the more dissonant sides of jazz. This trailer is a lot more approachable:

It seems that most phenomena in the game inspire you to be a better person. You seem generally like a good person! This unfortunately makes you a non-representative online shooter player. How will people relate to your experiences?

With just a little more work, the “almost completely covered” line could have been a fitting double entendre

There’s only one person here clutching their pearls and bemoaning the downfall of society, and it’s not Totilo. Thoughtful commentary is not outrage culture. “This is the stupidest goddamn controversy ever,” on the other hand, is

You’re a great writer, and an important voice for Kotaku. You’re absolutely entitled to be less patient and impersonal than you are when talking about race. The fact that you’re able to speak at such a respectful remove, without talking down to anyone, is... admirable, and hopefully it’s getting through to some

I bought it immediately, but the best reason not to is that it’s an English dub with no other language options. The upside is that, as a digital version, you can download it to your phone or tablet and watch it on the go

As someone with a lot more experience in 2D games, I had the opposite experience, and got stuck / burned out on Bloodborne frustratingly early, but felt pretty comfortable with HK

Mole is amazing; this looks awful, the kind of thing where everyone is so excited to get on the Instagram hype train that they're too embarrassed to say, actually this doesn't taste so great

Developers keep insisting their games won’t come out for Switch up through the day they finally announce the Switch release. Makes perfect business sense, and I don’t blame em, I’ve just started disregarding their statements and assuming that every successful indie release will eventually make its way over

Damn right I do!

While I agree that we all need to work on (1) dealing with the jerkish behavior of others and (2) not being jerks ourselves, I’m much more likely to spend time in a space not dominated by jerks, and more likely to spend money to be in such a space. It’s a big wide capitalist utopia out there; who’s to say I can’t find
