I think this is on-point for some people but doesn't apply to others. If you don't have a certain temperament and baseline experience with these types of games, I think trying to get into Souls games as an adult could be excruciating, with no light at the end of the tunnel 

I enjoyed this. A good reminder that despite all the objective-seeming criticism around games, we like what we like. (I also agreed with a lot of it, since I play a lot of games but struggle to maintain interest with the AAA stuff.)

Frankly, I would be happiest if they just released War of the Lions on Switch with some minor quality of life improvements and a higher resolution.
