Completely and utterly irrelevant. Should people just blow through a red light because there are (seemingly) no cars coming the other way?

Not really. Consider that from the time the intersection is closed, until a train crosses averages 45 seconds. And the intersection is closed when that light starts flashing and the sound starts playing.
But this is Florida we’re talking about. There will immediately be headlines about meth addicts getting caught under those while humping alligators or something.
It’s also is going to have an extremely large tourist base which would be unfamiliar with the layout of the land, in an unfamiliar car, distracted by their vacation or whatever else.
“the south will rise again!" *Drives around barrier at RR crossing, gets hit, dies*.
As the resident ( I think only) actual honest-to-goodness Train Conductor on the Jalop message board, I’ll comment on a few things here:
“In the cringiest moment on the Internet this week, the bottom of the car slams on the edge of the flatbed before slamming into the ground.”
Fuck the new Blazer and Trailblazer. They should’ve just given us the international Trailblazer, which is a Colorado with an SUV body.
Anything labeled as sport(y) and has a CVT as a transmission. This is old moped technology. Yes I’m looking at all of your vehicles Nissan and some of the Subaru’s....
The Ford Ecosport is a bad vehicle in every conceivable way and should Ford should be ashamed for still selling it in this market.
Looking at Dodge and Nissan, they can basically get another 20 years without changing much of anything.
Didn’t they just release a few new engines in their ICE cars? If so, they should be able to get some years out of those while pushing their EV’s. I think we will see some major battery breakthroughs now that EV’s are really being adopted.
Police cars. According to many on jalopnik anytime a police car is in public it results in death and destruction. They shouldn’t ever turn on the lights because it causes criminals to then run and kill people. And they shouldn’t ever enforce any laws. So police cars really just shouldn’t exist.
Dodge Charger.
I think the Bustrain/Trainbus/Catbus is a useful idea for rural/under-served areas with railways that have not degraded due to time. As the bus carries only 20 or so passengers, the vehicle should cause little wear to the tracks. Also, it can be serviced in a vehicle depot, rather than having to maintain train repair…
“…[Y]ou can’t do much worse than the 2022 Ford Maverick“. So, the Maverick is not a good vehicle? I can think of several worse than this…MUCH worse.
This is the key to truly breaking through to EV and hybrid adoption in the Heartland. Make them have a real, huge benefit that people care about that you just dont get with conventional vehicles. I can see this thing having enough power to run a campsite for 3 days in luxury ive never dreamed of, or bringing the…
If you’re OK with a static hard to move structure a caboose is,actually a much better base than a shipping container because they were actually designed to be lived in so they have insulation, windows, heating and basic plumbing. When we still lived near Portland we used to go to the tea house in Sellwood that had a…
Does dad get upset when people tell his daughter she has a nice caboose?
I’ll see myself out...
All modern Ford manuals have hill hold (not that there are many left). It’s super helpful and basically gives you like 3 seconds before you roll back. It’s like having a friend holding the ebrake for you on a hill. (My Mazda3 has it too).
