It’s not the train line that is deadly. It’s the stupidity and/or suicidal inclinations of the drivers.

Recently moved to South Florida from Boston. Having lived in NYC, Philadelphia and Boston, I have to say that hands down, the drivers here in South Florida are terrifyingly aggressive. So does is surprise me that some ignore railroad crossings and get creamed by a train? Not at all.

Sorry Erin, but this is a bad, click-bait-y article.

I’m with you.

The Maverick offers the same basic function for way less, and it gets better fuel economy. It’s also built by a brand known for their trucks. I don’t think it should be a surprise it’s selling better.

But it is based on the Escape, I believe, which does offer AWD in the hybrid. I’m not saying they definitely didn’t design it in, I’m just saying there is a possibility they left the door open to add it down the road.

Hyundai doesn’t sell more vehicles than Ford, at least in NA. Where did you get your numbers?

I don’t really understand this. The Frontier is 3 inches taller and two feet longer (in similar four dour configuration. It’s 10 inches longer otherwise). That’s not a bit here and there, in height and length that’s roughly the same difference as between an Frontier and and F150 Super Crew with the 6.5ft bed (though

It means Ford wasn’t able to produce enough.

Remember when the Dakota first came out in 1987? It really screwed with people’s minds because it wasn’t little and it wasn’t big. It invented the mid-size truck category.

The trouble is nobody buys standard cab trucks anymore, so to get a useable bed the truck has to grow in length. As for height, everybody wants to feel macho I guess.

I’ll take it one step further. Its already going to be expensive to make a Mav ST. Why not go all the way and do a Mav RS. Plop the Focus RS drivetrain in there and call it a day. Bonus points if they can keep a modest tow rating.

I’m ready for a full BEV Maverick.

Fuckin hell a transit connect replacement is literally a no-brainer. This means, of course, it will never happen.

Well heck, then let’s throw in the Honda Goldwing since it costs just a little over $20,000.

The fact that it’s actually more efficient than any of those cars(Mirage is higher combined, lower city) while being more spacious and more practical, and getting into subjectivity here, but also cooler than a subcompact car, also helps immensely.

Also gas prices are high. Outside of the Mirage, the Maverick has better gas mileage too (I think).

My opinion -Ford’s track record of Pickup trucks, Maverick’s ace which is the hybrid and its MSRP (on paper), better actual bed space, and less polarizing styling IMO gives the win to Maverick. Like you said, the Santa Fe is for those who say “I want a lifestyle vehicle, a crossover with a bed” which I think is a

Beating the Ridgeline and also the Ranger seems like the bigger deal. The Honda has been around awhile and has a great reputation. This is really an exercise in how many people want a domestic pickup that is smaller than the current mid-size range (which is what 1/2 tons were 20 years ago), and don’t give a shit
