It might not be much of a thing in the Triangle, the QC, or Asheville, but head 30 miles outside the city limits and you’ll see them daily. They’re normally driven by kids with daddy’s money who have no intent on using their truck as a truck. They can often be found blocking the Tesla chargers at the Sheetz in

The fuck are you talking about? I live in SC and see like 3 of these things a day

You realize a fully-grown adult human being could walk in-front of a modern, non-lifted pickup without being seen, right?

It does look like it creates a needless safety concern with visibility over the hood. These trucks look like children flatteners to me. Imagine the trend was to take a level truck and install the hood at this type of an angle obstructing visibility? I’m pretty sure everyone would agree that to be a terrible idea, yet

it is absolutely a thing, I see it all over the Midlands and upstate.

> You are putting way less weight over the front tires than the vehicle was designed for.

I’d much rather the law was worded to require a certain level of visibility from inside the cab or maybe the throw of the lights instead of specifically targeting the front lift/rear drop, but I guess we’ll have to take what we can get.

Do I like it? No, not my kind of deal. Should it be banned? Probably not. The people that are complaining that the suspension and steering have been altered from factory specs are forgetting the 50's when the same thing was done with gassers, and were probably around to see them. Also remember the 60s when the front

Donks and Squatters are definitely not my thing, but this law fails the Footloose Test.  Clearly the law exists because people hate the look and, maybe, the people driving these trucks.  Otherwise it would have been written differently.  Show me some empirical evidence of a safety issue and we can talk.

Focus ST transmission. They’re not using it in the US currently, but the issue (beyond anticipated take rate) is certifying it with this thing, so I don’t expect it to be offered, but they have it. If they did offer it, I’d bet it would be FWD only. I read some early ones had synchro problems, but my facelift model has

Even your basic F-150 is a highboy model these days.

I’m ready for the Small Truck Guy excuses now:

Two door trucks are a dying breed, relegated only to small percentage of commercial sales. I too, would prefer a two-door, but there’s no way they’re producing anything but four-door short beds.

Transit Connects have always been built/imported from Turkey for the NA market. Full size Transit vans are built in Kansas City MO.

Not sure why Ford didn’t just leave the seats in and let the end user decide where to dispose of those bench seats. Personally, I’d have wanted a cargo van w/a seat and sliding door

I don’t see why you say that.  The government set the regulations and Ford followed the regulations.

The UAW is one of the most corrupt unions in the western world.

Oddly enough, the Vdara in LV and the London building were both by the same architect. He seems to have a thing for fryscrapers.

“Enpentagrammed.”

The lead architect on the project probably once owned a TC, and had always wondered if the concept could scale up.

Chrysler’s flame-retardant carpet supplier must have made a good product, because all the damage seems to be those burned slashes in the carpet on the rear luggage cubby cover.
