Good chance the impellers broke when the rag hit, which means you have a bunch of small blades heading for the intake valves, which can jam up or make it through the valves. I’ve heard of turbo blade fragments making it all the way into the exhaust.

My Fiesta 1.0 easily averaged 45+ on the highway. Setting the cruise control at 65, and it would average 50+. Trip Meter has been hand verified. My brother’s 1.0 Focus 6MT does about 42 highway. Both do better than rated. Our 3rd one (2016 Fiesta), which was the newest, did close to 60 MPG highway, on I-5 in the NW.…
My 2016 company car was quiet as anything else. As good as the Edge, better than the Pacifica. Way better than the Armada. Earlier ones were much louder. I don’t know when they made it better.
Yup. For sure. The turbos hold their value very well, while the plebeian versions are very affordable used.
Empty, sure. Hook up 10,000 pounds, and the EcoBoost will smoke the 6.2L off the line. Once the 6.2L builds some revs, it can easily match power output, but that sub-3,000 RPM range is where the EcoBoost shines.
You don’t need to wait “for the turbo to kick it” on the EcoBoost. Lag in nearly imperceivable, and much less noticeable than the torque lag that requries RPMs in the 5.0 or even 6.2L. It’s hands-down, the best power-deliveing engine in a 1/2-ton.
This. Many of the heavy-lug mud and all-terrain tires do not have factory siping like P-rated or snow tires.
Except you don’t need to fumble around for your hidden key in case of a crash, because Fords unlock when the airbags deploy, and open mechanically with a 2nd tug of the interior door handle if the electric lock isn’t working. Also, electric latching requires much more substantial hadrware than electric locking.
As we learned from the Los Angeles funicular accident, the emergency brake system isn’t alway maintained. I’m guessing this accident was similar... gear train failure followed by an inop emergency brake, or nobody was trained how to use it.

The Panera’s in my area have a bank of charging stations. So does my neighborhood Chevron station. Everybody needs a break at some point. I think this is a pretty good idea. Maybe not for fast food, but lots of casual dining options could be a good fit.
Duty cycle? I don’t think the stock slider doors is rated for dozens of cycles a day for 20+ years.
The 1.0 EcoBoost does not use the dual clutch. Instead its the same torque converter transmission as the Escape/Transit Connect/Fusion.

They probably stole the jerry cans from a contractor pickup. I’ve had mine stolen before. Now its locked. I didn’t inially, becuase I figured if somebody needed some gas in the middle of nowhere while I wasn’t around, I could understand their plight. But metal jerry cans are $$$ so once was enough.
Depends. If he has full insurance, that will pay the towing and storage fees. It’s not “impound” once the owner proves ownership. It’s treated just like a collision tow. Usually, it would just be re-towed to a body shop or scrapped. In this case, the owner may have had to pay out-of-pocket to release the car if…
