The baffling thing is how badly they always want to come back. I used to work in a bar in a neighborhood lousy with bars and was continually amazed that these idiots came back, sniffling and groveling. If I ever got 86d from somewhere I’d be so humiliated I’d never go near the place again.

I’m in Portland, OR and was taking it for granted for a while. I’d kind of like to be in a place with a better job market, less expensive, maybe better weather. I recently traveled to a rural-ish area for a job interview that was terribly sexist and came back with a new appreciation for this place.

Your husband is being unfair. Most kids go through phases of clothes obsessions—at ages 4 and 5, my sister literally wore the same pair of overalls every day for almost a year, and my brother had to be wearing at least eight shirts at a time for a while.
