@TKWarrior: Any reference to The Last Dragon gets a +1 !
Very nice. I think the dual screens really helps solve the issue with the lack of color in eInk technology. As long as the processor is fast enough to refresh quickly on the eInk side, as well as not bog down while browsing the net on the color side. Don't like the grey color though. A nice shiny black with chrome…
@Servant2work4God: Sorry - I didn't realize you wanted a task bar on the second monitor. I use command key's to move my windows around, and I love the middle click to move to second monitor offered by DisplayFusion. Let us know if you find a good replacement.
I've been using MediaMonkey for years and haven't had any problems. Works great with podcasts, and allows me to easily decide which content I want added to my MP3 player. The free version is missing a couple of features, but still provides a great interface and ease of use in the free version. A really nice feature…
@Servant2work4God: If you haven't tried it, give DisplayFusion a try. The free version works just fine for me.
@jmkarstetter: Have you looked at the GoPro HD Hero? It's a 1080P @ 30 fps (127 degree viewing angle) and 720p @ 60 fps (170 degree viewing angle) camera that just came out that's rated down to 180 feet, so I would assume it can do 200 without problems. They come with different mounts as well (car, helmet and…
@SEDAGIVE?!: Right on. Why displace the energy? Why not just go to the source? I want a coal burning bike instead. It would leave a nice trail, and keep my ass warm at the same time. :)
Too bad I just got my free Eye-Fi card in the mail yesterday from the Google storage upgrade, because this new one looks really good. So far, the one I have is slick and is super easy for my wife to use. What's not to like? On-the-fly renaming. Local and online uploading. Geotagging. Awesome!
@askj113 wants a star!: I was torn as to put my pictures at Picasa (Google), or Flickr (Yahoo), and decided to go with Picasa as I already use so many of Google's other tools that are getting more and more integrated, and the free Eye-Fi card was too hard to pass on. I do agree that the Flickr community is much…
@Bryan Ball: Correct Bryan. I referenced the wrong information. The tag, including picture details data is stored in the exif location, but the face tagging is not, but is stored in the [picassa.ini] file and DB. Hopefully this will be resolved in the future:
I took the bite also and grabbed the free Eye-Fi card and 200 gigs of space on Picasa. So far, I like the interface of the Picasa client, though photo editing isn't as good as other photo editing software. The facial recognition is great, and uploading pictures is relatively easy. I wish there was a way to upload…
@davekoob: +1 for SpaceMonger - awesome app, small in size and portable. It really gives a great picture of what folders/sub folders are taking up your disk space. Easy to zoom in/out and delete files from one clean interface. Been using it for years, and have yet to find a proper replacement. Version 1.4.0 is the…
@whiteflea: Congratulations on having your break start already! Good job on the weight loss. Make sure you don't add it back on though now that you've got so much time to lay back and relax. Thanks for being a teacher also (from a parent of three lil'uns).
@jgirard: Thank you Joe. That was an exceptional video series. Thank you very much - very nice site. Too bad you guys are so far away, I'd love to take some classes. Oh well, certainly bookmarked your site though to revisit often.
@adityakhare001: For really bad sticking - ie burned food, fill up the pan with water and throw in a used dryer sheet. Let it sit over night and the next day, the burned food will fall right off.
For those who want to keep the downloads, add a folder called "NiniteCache" next to the executable, and it will store all the downloaded files without deleting them in that folder (found in the documentation section of ninite.com). These can also be stored on a NAS by using an INI file.
I went the blackout curtain route as well. Took a couple of poplar 1 x 3's and put together a frame and then stretched and stapled blackout cloth to it, just like stretching a giant painting canvass. Works great, and only cost me 10 bucks or so in cloth.
For those that don't mind the hardcore fitness, try out Crossfit. It's allowed me to be my strongest I've ever been (at age 36), and I've lost 20 pounds in the past 5 months doing it. You do have to do some exercises with weights (barbells and dumbells), but much of the routines are bodyweight specific (squats,…
Well I took the plunge and got the 200 gigs of space and the free wifi card. I hope it was the right choice instead of going with Flickr, or another online storage solution. I really needed something that the wife could use, and a way of backing up my 100+ gigs of photographs. Seems like the cheapest solution, and I…
