Oh man, I feel you on the grading. I am avoiding my own grading, but luckily it’s only about 40 papers and I am the instructor for the class, which is infinitely better than being a TA, especially for a jerk professor. Hang in there! Is is a semester or quarter class?

I would assume that they mean costumes where your face is covered, like a Star Wars Stormtrooper costume or something. If it’s just some dude dressed like a pirate they might not see that as a security issue. But who knows.
