I think she was mostly the face of a much larger system that was horrible to people with mental illness and people who were treated as if they had mental illness, and the real villain was that system.
The biggest shock of all is that neither Franco has any talent.
It was scary as hell in “House of Leaves”, anyway. Highly recommended if you haven’t checked it out.
Despite the Full House reference, this episode felt more like a tribute to Seinfeld. In that it was about nothing.
My theory is that next episode, Lawrence is gonna tell Issa that he’s moving out of LA (maybe to the San Francisco/Bay Area, since he was flying back from there when Molly ran into him)
Quality use of social media and how people use it when they’re bored/feeling disconnected
It’s funny AND true.
What will really mess your head up is going back to X-Files and hearing her accent slip into English occasionally.
Emma Mackey is so compelling to watch. Looking forward to all of it!
That’s correct, she didn’t say look. She just said, “This person is nothing like you.”
I don’t think the show confirmed that everything we were watching was all delusion or fantasy. The show had plenty of scenes from perspective of other characters which I’d argue made it clear that the stuff with f-society, E-Corp, and Whitehall actually happened.
I can attest that my wife and I got a babysitter for this on Saturday and it was WORTH IT.
Thank you for this review. I enjoy most of Rian’s stuff, and have no doubt I’ll enjoy this, and the following probably doesn’t quite apply to anything in the actual movie, which A.A. said does fulfill genre beats. But I couldn’t help notice again this idea of “subversion”, as if every new genre movie has to subvert…
I don’t think one has to be a “stan” to interpret “litigious” and “trigger-happy” as negatives. It seems especially unfair when by far the most example of Swift’s “litigiousness” involved her suing a man who groped her. The item was about Braun not attending the award show, so it didn’t really need to start with a dig…
Actually, I believe it was, “I’m mad as hell and I’m not going to take it anymore. Now play it again, Sam. I don’t think we’re in Kansas any more Toto.”
Was about to comment the same thing. I think besides this review, the best one I’ve seen said it would be a good show if it was airing on network TV 15 years ago.
Is there something in the SAG-AFTRA bylaws that requires a Duplass to be involved in every new television production?
Nope, no parallels to current times that I can find in that.
Best film of the year for me, and I'd be damn impressed if anything in the next few months could beat it. For anyone who liked The VVitch, THIS IS A MUST SEE! It's got the gorgeously suffocating atmosphere, historical intelligence and pitch perfect performances of that film, but it's less one-noted and stagey and much…
