While this is an engine swap, Ford did produce LTDs with the 5.0 in the 80's. Though not very common they did usually have the black-out "euro look" headlight bezels and molding that you see in this picture.

Whether it is a plane, train or automobile deadly accidents are usually a series of events that cascade into disaster. I would reserve judgment on the driver until the report is released.
