We test-drove a 2023. Overall liked the handling of the car, but the interior was smaller than I expected. Interesting to hear you felt that road noise wasn’t bad, as in our tester driving around the city, I was surprised by the high level of noise.

In your defense re the transmission dipstick - your car may not have one. Auto transmissions have one, but none of the manuals I’ve owned do. I’ve had to pull the fill plug on the transmission housing and stick a finger in.

The best deal on a Maverick? In two years, when they’re coming off-lease and there’s other competitors in the segment.

“... ill-suited for actual, real-world truck use...”

Nice car, but... For that age and number of cylinders at that price, I’d expect it to have a safety and no ABS lights. If you haven’t fixed that, and you’re selling as-is, what else is wrong with it?

The 911 family. Never has stirred anything for me, not since I first got the car bug in the ‘80s, and not since. I can appreciate their amazing performance and all that, but to channel James May, they’ve never given me any fizz.

Subie snacks?

I realize you’re probably an American, so in your mind everything in Canada is close to Toronto. They’re at Toronto Motorsports Park in Cayuga, ON, about 60 miles outside of Toronto. Saying it’s Toronto-based is like saying Old Milwaukee is a Chicago-based beer.

“We”? The Japanese, sure, but from the big 3?

I think the main issue he was addressing was that the convoy did not move over when passing a stopped police vehicle. In Ontario (where the encounter occured) the law says on a multi-lane highway you have to slow to 60 kph or move over one lane when there is a stopped emergency vehicle on the side of the road. That,

I can’t speak to US pricing, but here in Ontario, there are exactly 2 Bolts showing on Autotrader, one at $45K and the other at $52.5 CDN. There are 10 LEAF’s running from $35K to $40K. So dealer availability may be an issue.

I don’t know how many stanced Jetta wagons with extraneous kit there are, but I may have seen this thing on my drive home last night. As a VW fan, my first thought was “Cool! Jetta wgon!”. My second thought was “WTF did they do to it?”. CP. Your mods do not add to the value of your car.

How long have you been here? There’s little to no evidence anything gets proofread before it’s posted. Spelling mistakes, poor grammar, non-sequitur cut-and-paste hack jobs... who’s got time for proofreading?

Pity about the Golf.

1. Chevy Vega

So BMW is moving 3-series production to Mexico, presumably because they got a bucket-load of tax incentives (not to mention a 10-year tax vacation), and the labour is dirt-cheap compared to Germany. So as a consumer, my question is will this el-cheapo production move be reflected in a lower sticker price? Since labour

CP with the slushbox. It (was) in great shape considering its age, but with the auto, $2k is more reasonable. If it had a stick, we might negotiate.

4th gear: “...a starting price of about 700,000 yuan ($106,000), he said, comparable to Tesla’s Model S, which is made of aluminum. The price is about a third of the BMW i8...”

At least you can scratch the rash.
