It’s certainly in remarkable shape, and the manual does add a couple of grand, but not to that price point. Here’s one in similar shape (with fewer miles!) for less than half the price.

Having had two late-80's Troopers, and missed them dearly, this one tears at my heartstrings. Because it’s a very cool and capable vehicle, and totally crack-piped price. There was (until recently) a JDM Bighorn with extra off-road goodies on ‘trader or Kijiji for about $9K CDN. You could do an awful lot of upgrading

A good chunk of the populace are leasing, which costs less per month, but the automakers report leases as sales.

“The average person in this country can’t afford a brand new $18,000 Civic, let alone a car that’s more than twice that much.”

What part of Dumfukistan did they film this in?

“An ex-engineer writing about science and technology.”

Pretty cool. I’m waiting to hear if anyone over 6' tall has sat in one of the new ND’s yet. It would be nice if certain manufacturers would remember the _average_ North American male is 5'10", not the 5'3" they appear design for.

^ This. As a man with no cranial hair to speak of, and a distaste for hats, the Miata never makes it to my shortlist.

Choose any manufacturer capable of recognizing that mediocrity and compromise will not generate sales in a crowded segment. This harks back to the bad-old-days of the big 3 building cars to a price point and not really caring about functionality or reliability.

Don’t know how well it would work in snow, and you’d need some straps or rope, but...

I think you misheard the kids. They said “rat sh*t”.

Watch the video again. He crests the hill at about 0:13, and catches a glimpse of the Miata, but Orange Hatchback is cutting across.... and then into the weeds. Only at that time, (0:14.5) does he get to see the Miata’s not moving.

I’ll give Justin the benefit of the doubt on this one, because in his top 10 post, the #3 wreck didn’t completely total the car as this Agera driver did, and the #1 GTO wreck wasn’t single car.

Mister pedantic picky-fussy here. In the first paragraph you wrote: “...and pushed the throttles forward.”

And just to rub salt in the wounds, they did discover that the role was valid, and instead of having a Canadian-designed and built aircraft with superior capabilities, we wound up buying second-hand Voodoos to fill the interceptor role.

The Chrysler Cirrus/Status/Breeze trifecta of mediocrity.

Hardly a “worst” car. It was reasonably economical, reasonably practical and reasonably reliable. Not a jalop choice but certainly not the worst the ‘90s had to offer. I’d argue the Neon was appreciably worst in almost all measures.

This video gives you an idea of what the much larger B-2 Spirit flying-wing stealth bomber looks like refueling as a comparison:”

Wow. Short of having a trunk full of dead prostitutes covered in Rick Perry’s fingerprints and, um, salty leavings, I can’t see how this is anything but CP.

It might have something to do with the base price... most of the Volts on local Canadian dealer lots are optioned up to an MSRP of $45K. Not may people looking for a mid-size sedan are going to shell out that kind of cash for a Chevy. Not with a Camry hybrid being $15K less, and a Prius plugin being $10K less. That’s
