HOW ARE THEY NOT CALLED CHICKOBOS?!

From what I understand, the planets are actually 3d modeled, but just very very big. Some of the faster-flight movement mods on PC might allow for the “pulse drive” option you’re talking about? But yeah, doesn’t seem like it would’ve been too hard to implement - other than maybe making a too-easy way to just pulse out

Can you do the VN thing of just going back to previous branches to see what you missed out on, or do you have to do a full replay?

Or are there even branches beyond choosing your romantic interest?

I know, weird flex from PC gamers, right? How dare someone get paid for a QoL improvement that nobody else took the time to make?! I swear we are the dumbest elitist pricks in the world.

Wasn’t expecting the suicide mention.  Not triggered or anything, just jarring.  Is it a concern in the game?

Jokes on them, my controller already smells like pizza.

You avoided the Over 9000 bit on purpose, you monster.

I WANT TO SEE THE HEDGEHOOGLE

That’s definitely an interesting point - it’s a content cycle, but not an endlessly renewing one like some F2P games like Fortnite or others manage to pull off. Unless you just want to get in and play the PvP content I guess?

Thank you for that second paragraph. I forget that Destiny is definitely not the end-all, be-all of GAAS, and that I have experienced other methods of approaching that Engagement Reactor that Big Game Publishing wants to start on all their franchises.

That sounds right. I hopped on Marvel’s Avengers because previews made it look like it had a very good singleplayer component and fun brawler gameplay, and then they had a GAAS endgame, which I could take or leave.

But I enjoy(ed) subscribing to MMOs and getting my content dripfeed while doing dailies and weeklies, and

So someone help me understand the Destiny gameplay cycle:
1. You play the singleplayer campaign / shared world content to get all the story in the main game (D1 or D2)
2. You start grinding out multiplayer (arenas or raiding or whatever your favorite is, but Raiding gets you more story)
3. A piece of seasonal content

I’m a reddit-2-tumblr refugee.  I hearted a single TotK post, and now my entire feed is nothing but HEAVY FEELS comics about TotK story moments.  I cannot deal with this amiibo.

The dedication to atmosphere and attention to detail is definitely a plus in Bloober Team’s favor. At this time, I’m not sure I trust Konami with their own IP, knowing they shut down previous SH projects and shifted to focus on mobile and pachinko for a while before finally coming back to this. As you said, time will

Seconded.  I responded similarly to another commenter.  People don’t want upscaled identical remakes (for the most part), and I don’t trust Bloober Team (yet) to be able to pull off a FF7:Remake or RE4:Remake.

I get that, but think about the way that recent remakes have been handled and received.

If a company just rebuilds the original game with modern textures and puts it out there, maybe mediocre to good reviews from existing fans.

If a company rebuilds the game with modern sensibilities and maybe even makes changes beyond

Stuff like this is why I’m concerned about Konami giving Silent Hill to these guys.
