Agree with most of what you said. My point is that it is a bad idea to throw across your body, so why would the OC design a play where the qb has to throw across his body to hit the primary receiver? 

Hey Doc, all true but when they replayed it, they said the play was designed as a wheel route to the running back to “confuse the defense.” And it’s seldom a good decision to throw across the field and an even worse decision to draw a play up where that’s your primary receiver. But just my take.
