Carlos the Wonder Dog Again

I feel the same way about Sabathia. In 17 starts for the Brewers, he went 11-2 with *seven* complete games and a 1.65 ERA. In game 162 he pitched a complete game against the Cubs to clinch the Wild Card where Braun hit a HR in the bottom of the eigth.

I’ll just point out this article of Carton’s, which makes the baseball one seem progressive and quaint.

I‘m 6'4", travel often and will almost always switch even if it results in a middle seat. Just be nice to people.

So Rudolph is going to have to lead the way?

I’m not an Eli hater by any means.  He has had a wonderful career and accomplished more than a lot of people thought he would.  But at some point, you just got to pull the plug here.  He’s on the last year of his deal.  Tell him he’s not starting and he can either be the back up, retire or released.  I really don’t

Number one sign you have CTE:  You think your CTE is fixable.

So no parties get no satisfaction?

My guess is that you’ve had a lot of trickling down with that poor home run total.

I see where you are going with it, I just don’t think it’s going to matter. HBCUs have resource issues that go well beyond athletics. If even the top half of the top 50 football prospects decide to go to those schools, it would hardly move that needle. They are still going to be behind facility wise, donations wise

Has there ever been a team successful at tanking in the NFL?  I’m sure the GM sold the owners on this idea, but IMO it likely does no more than give him a couple more years on his contract.

Guns are things. They aren’t protected by anything. The ability to own a gun is indeed protected. But the ability to own any type of gun isn’t. Reasonable limits are allowed, just like reasonable limits are allowed on first amendment rights.  That doesn’t make me “anti-gun.”  I own one.

Tennessee made two great coaching hires in Johnny Majors and Phil Fullmer that gave them 30 years of success with a program that has a huge following BUT not a great abundance of local high school talent. Then they made a series of spectactularly bad coaching decisions. Lane Kiffin, Derek Dooley and Butch Jones. And

They why did they trade for the guy? At some point you just let the guy be who he is.  So what if he bitches about the fine on Instagram?  Why even fine him in the first place?  The Raiders are creating more problems than they are solving at this point.

You forgot to mention that they traded for said player and signed him to a contract extention.

I guess “teachable moments” aren’t part of Pruitt’s mantra.

It’s almost as if they are owned by a guy who inherited the team from his dad, a general manager with no front office experience who was a pretty mediocre TV analyst as little as two years ago, and a formerly decent coach who has also sat in TV booth for much of the last decade. Who would have thought that bunch

But he’s done nothing in his young career but show he’s worth building an offense around

I’m not holding out, and I am fully aware of my replacement value.

The point is that you don’t have to pay a premium when most are pretty much replaceable.

But they don’t have to.  Running backs are largely a commodity in today’s NFL.  The top contracts almost exclusively go to quarterbacks and edge rushers with a few WRs thrown in. Overpaying for a running back is dumb.
