I’ve watched, played, coached and officiated basketball games. The rule is black and white. Yes when you don’t have the benefit of replay, you aren’t going to see what happened, but by rule, that was Virginia’s ball.  Not even a shred of doubt.

We gave up the idea of “fluidity” with commercial breaks during every game.  Adding replay on top of that wasn’t much of a marginal change.

I mean, it literally went off Moretti’s hand last.  It’s a black and white rule. It doesn’t matter what “subsequent attempt” he made.

Was this the correct call? Yes and no. Yes in that Moretti’s finger was in fact the last to touch the ball before it went out of bounds.
