I would like a Tesla pick up truck for our next support vehicle.

Agreed

We also set the “record” for shortest time coast to coast. Previous record was 67 hours set by Edmunds.com

Elon Musk is building a Gigafactory in Sparks, NV to do just that Recycle the batteries. Currently the idea is to cycle them into Power Walls. This will create about 11,000 american jobs in the process. With 11,000 working at Tesla and about 8,000 at Space X. This is quite an achievement. I’ve never met the man, it

Whomever we source the oil from it cost too much. We all could be driving on sunlight. I was simply sick of paying 75.00 a fill up.

Amen!

Couldn’t have said it better myself.

Superchargers are positioned along freeways for interstate travel, not records. Since each one cost about 100k to install, it’s doubtful Tesla put them there for records.

How many electrical outlets are in the USA?

28 hours 50 minutes set by Ed.

Guinness has rules regarding charging and unfortunately generators are not allowed.

Tesla motors set this record last year they had 3 support vans and 15 drivers (company employees and engineers). We did it with 3 drivers an 1 support vehicle (for the witnesses required by guinness). I don’t think we could have stuffed six people in the Tesla for 59 hours straight. Especially since Matt is 6’7”. I

Using Adaptive cruise control isn’t cheating. Reports of drafting are not accurate. NASCAR style drifting didn’t happen.....though it makes for tons of controversy.

Supercharging stations at Ft Tejon, Bartstow, Hawthorne, and others use solar power to charge the car. Soon the rest of the SC stations will be the same. Give the man time. He is after all sending supplies to the space station for 1/4 of the coast of NASA, and running Tesla. There is a closed loop system for anyone

There is several rules from Guinness regarding this record.

Add up all the miles you put on your car then figure all the gas you had to buy to run those miles. In our case it was enough to justify a Tesla. If you trade cars ever two years, it may not be the car for you. But if you commute and hang on to cars for 8-10 year and you enjoy the prospect of not buying gas, then a
