Some tesla charging stations have solar awnings that collect the power from the sun. They store in in battery packs for later use. I use the suns power when I charge at home and some stations when on the road. There is no cost for Tesla owners to use the charging stations.

We started the evening having dinner at the portofino hotel. But for Guinness Book we had to start at City Hall Los Angeles to City Hall NYC. After we made our stop in NYC city hall we drove over to the Redball Garage for photos and pay homage to the US Express guys, and Brock Yates.

65 MPH average

Rental.....that was my thoughts

We only saw 3 other tesla’s charging on the hole entire trip. On average we only stayed at charging stations for a short amount of time. We did our best to back into the stall straight, but all of us suffered from fatigue. Your right we could have done a better job parking....good catch.

The Suburban may have accutly get better milage. Matt told me today that he didn’t reset the “trip/odometer”. So the previous rental or lifetime average was mixed with the our MPG on the suburban computer. Who knows, we do know that it did a good job of hauling our cameras and support team (required by guinness). We

The TACC was activated on the car, not exactly drafting. The cars hard/software is designed to follow behind any vehicle on the road. Not exactly nascar style (i.e 3 inches of the next guys bumber). More like 3 to 7 car lengths depending on speed. I’m not sure this was an advantage, more like a safety feature. As the

You can only guess how exciting it was for us, to be invited to dinner with Cannonball Legend ALEX ROY!!!! Author of The Driver: My Dangerous Pursuit of Speed and Truth in the Outlaw Racing World. OMG.... an evening that will not be forgotten!!!

Ha ha Ha. Deena selected the red... I didn’t care what color it was, as long as I don’t have to buy gas anymore.

LOL

We would have worn “ 32 hour 7 mins” shirts but their website is sold out!

In our defense the cars were never left unattended...on average we only charged for less than 30 mins. we never blocked anyone from charging. In fact we only met less than 4 other teslas charging as we made our journey across the USA. Leaving several bays open to anyone needing them. It drive me nuts when people take

LOL..

I would submit stopping every 150 to 200 miles for 20-30 minutes is a good break when traveling. Stretch your legs get out of the car, actually meat some people. Its a new way of traveling for us. We have discovered Bakery, and Organic coffee houses that roast there own beans, far different from grabbing some AMPM

Can’t wait to see what Tesla comes out with next!

No such thing as cheating in a Cannonball. The rules are there are no rules.
