Not sure I totally buy this thesis. Or I do, but not with some of your examples.

One thousand percent this was a sex thing.
I’m here to cosign this. Maybe I had a weak index finger when I started opening cans or something but the thumb way is what feels natural. I always assumed everyone did this, and now I have to check next time I’m out for beers.
I think this is true, and I think the way it manifests the most frequently is in the oft-expressed variation of, “who hasn’t said something kind of racist every once in a while?”, which is sometimes attended by, “we’re all thinking it, I just have the guts to say it.”
They were around until at least the late 2000s; I remember begging my mom to drive me to the mall before I could drive myself to get books the day they dropped there. God, I was so cool.
lol what an Anna Delvey move, to stiff your own staff for a paltry $600. That’s a lot of money to me, and probably that scheduler, but definitely not to Pruitt. Which just goes to show, the corruption is a built-in part of his personality, clearly beyond just the money.
This is the most 2018 car, where the design trend is apex predators: cars in the process of, but not quite finished with, eating other cars. cf. BMW i8.
Unpopular opinion but I see no lies or fireable offense here. If it was meant as a joke it’s definitely not funny in the ha-ha sense. And if it wasn’t meant as a joke, well it’s true and it’s not beyond strategy to think that sometime soon McCain is going to be swept off the board.
One would think, coming from any other public transit system in probably the whole world, that it’s safe to try to get information from someone wearing a uniform who clearly works there without being told to fuck off. We’re all enlightened now, but if you were coming from New York, or Boston, or Philadelphia, your…
Always wrangling truthers.
“I had to kill him, because killing is wrong.”
I want to know what he was doing all day. Did he have a real job at the Best Buy in the next town or something?
Is it even worth it to the republicans to fight this hard to unseat Manchin? That motherfucker’s such a DINO. I don’t know anything about the strategy but if I had limited funds to spend I’d be looking to spend them somewhere else.
I don’t see how it would be fitting. John McCain has spent his entire career acting in the exact opposite way to what one might expect a victim of torture to act. It stands to reason that his last act will be to vote ‘yea’, because fuck other people.
They charge just as well with ambient interior light. I’ve been using mine in my decently-lit office (125 lux) for about a year with no hiccups. I’m pretty far from natural sunlight. Anything north of 100 lux and it’ll stay 100% charged.

Totally off topic but my eyes cannot un-see in the image above the halves of two men, or perhaps the same man on two different days, smushed together along the sagittal plane. The one on our left is wearing a blue-grey suit and the one on the right is wearing a just-grey suit.
This is somewhat tangential, but that graph up there is pretty telling about self-styled “independents.” Their vision of themselves is of rugged individualism, of refusing to hew to party lines, of being above the political fray and being for common sense. In short, both-sides-are-bad-ism.
Does anyone know why the clearances are still pending? Maybe I haven’t been reading closely enough, but does it generally take this long? Can we expect Jared and his ilk to eventually be cleared, or is something lurking that’s preventing this?
*I think this packet was written by clueless, ignorant people and not intelligent, thoughtful people so they definitely didn’t intend what follows.*
In Boston? I’ve never heard of a single case of either.
