That show got cancelled over two years ago ...

I know! It really does feel like two different actors played both roles, between the hair, the voice, the energy ... he deserved that BAFTA, and no doubt would have been up for an Emmy had Giri/Haji been seen by more people ...

OK, off-topic, but this is a public service announcement to anyone who hasn’t seen Giri/Haji on Netflix to check it out now! It’s hard to believe that it’s the same Will Sharpe (who is Mr Aubrey Plaza in this season of White Lotus) that steals the show in Giri/Haji by taking the hooker-with-a-heart trope and delivering

L-R: Oscar Isaac, Andrea Riseborough, Madonna, James D’Arcy and David Harbour

these Beyonces who nance around town

Off-topic, but for the benefit of any non-English game show geeks out there - you may not be aware that Warwick Davis has been a staple on UK TV screens these past few years hosting a daytime quiz show:

I was reading the comments on Reddit about this show - and it turns out I’m not the only one who was distracted by Guzman’s atrocious line readings : Someone commented that he sounded like he was struggling with lung capacity to say his lines, and I totally agree.

He was on the run from the law

“The reviews are in! Fans say Netflix Wednesday is...watchable.”

How about “gooey beaver panties”

OK, came back to say I jumped the gun with my last comment - I was about to RIOT at the end of episode 4 when I thought they had <spoiler> killed off one of the few likable characters on the show </spoiler>

Urgh! Did you really have to utter the phraseI feel pleasured” - I think I did a full body cringe reading those 3 words (and the italics on the last one just made it worse!).

Now see, they could have cast someone who is not conventionally good-looking, but has charm, charisma ... John Leguziamo comes to mind. Or Marc Anthony. Heck I wouldn’t have been mad at Jack Black!

Guzman looks like a toad that got high on his own secretions.

Thank you! Just seeing the Four-Word title of this review on the AV Club main page was enough to dampen my enthusiasm for seeing this. But I started anyway and now I’m mid-way through and it’s ...watchable ...

Oh shit - HOW did I miss out Nicole Byer from that list?? Conan’s  reactions to some of her comments ... *chef’s kiss!*

You know what I love about Conan? Well, apart from being naturally hilarious, he’s also very self-deprecating - he actively encourages his guests to make him the butt of the joke instead of getting all moody when they do (he can take it on the chin). He knows how to put his guests at ease.

I’m English, under 50, had no interest in the show when the first few seasons launched (although my mother has the early DVD box sets) and only started watching for the first time with the Olivia Coleman/Gillian Anderson season

Chuckle? Darling, I practically screeched with laughter when she popped up!
