Mrs. Vices went to the doctor this morning, and this is what it was. We're in Texas. She's miserable, but on antibiotics now.

Yeah, that stings. It's not as flashy as some of the other umpire screw ups this week, but it certainly helped cost us the game. It has given me my "come to Jesus" moment as far as replay goes.

Seriously. There's a corner just before my house with a Popeye's on one corner and a Short Stop (tiny burger joint) on the other.

Except the gay wolves.

It does seem like he's protesting a bit much.

Right? I thought that there were serious health issues in Russia, and that's contributing heavily to declining population.

You covered your bases well! I also saw him at a reading a month or two ago, and he was a lot of fun. Also, I loved the Postmortal, so I'm excited to see this could happen. I didn't know if I'd like Drew's fiction, but I did.

Well put. I'm trying to decide if I should spare myself the agony of game 5. I literally felt like we lost a playoff game last night, as the Pittsburgh crowd was amped. I'm not sure if I'm in shape for all of this in late July/early August.

Izzy and Jimmy are on the studio show? I never see that, as I'm states away watching on MLB.tv. I can only imagine some of the genius that gets dropped in that show.

Gosh, die-hard fans that worship their past heroes? For shame, St. Louis!

Don't forget Ricky Horton. I prefer him to Hrbosky most times.

The weirdest moment in a weird double-header. And the weirdest part is the fact that the Pirates are in first.

I tend to agree—Miklasz is an absolute treasure, and his commitment to reasonable analysis (using actual stats—gasp!) is great to read everyday. I've got no problems with Goold—I think he's solid, and he does get some great information—but I think he's got a few years before he catches up with Bernie. He is learning

Yeah, I'm in Texas, and it does change with the region. I saw a great map showing what different regions in the US call soft drinks:

That's why my 5' tall wife married me (6'2")—it's the best of both worlds!
