But then we wouldn’t be able to hear any “you don’t have the stones for that” jokes.

Mark Waid is my jam

And in my library queue it goes! Thanks!

This particular thing? I don’t believe so. They’ve explored the idea of an aging superhero who causes damage when he tries to fix things (Supersonic), but not one who is like Captain Marvel in that he switches places with a younger/older self.

I love Seth as Mantis.

Taserface you say:

You mean, why do people like things that you don’t like?

“You don’t see it. I do. The end.”

So what should he have answered to the specific question “Is it mind-control” that he was asked over and over?

Ah, but I was paraphrasing. Only Doom can speak in capital letters verbally.

You keep saying that he’s “shoving” his politics into the book. Except, uh, he’s really not. Captain America has pretty much always been a pretty liberal book and Sam Wilson himself was a very liberal social worker. So I’m not seeing anywhere where he’s “shoving” his politics into the book.

Yes, some people enjoy reading comics.

Exactly! Doom has always known what is right. Lesser being do not have the intellect to understand what Doom has been telling them.

Became? DOOM has always been the only correct moral center of the Marvel universe

its a reference to Heavy Metal magazine in the 70s and the movies of the same name. video games took that look afterwords. Heavy metal represents every note they are trying to hit with thor in the marvel universe, from sci-fi adventure to mythology to partially dressed people cleaving eachother. its on point

Before the internet there was the Star Log magazine readers letters section. You had to be really pissed to take the time to write a letter and mail it in to a magazine complaining about a movie.

Cane:

I would argue that J.J. Abrams did exactly what he was supposed to. Edwards has the distinct advantage of getting to be second and making a movie in a climate where there is a significant tide of fresh good will toward the franchise.

I mean....look at that image. Who expected anyone who wasn’t a super fan to go see this thing?
