And so begins the wait to pick one up for $1,999 when everyone balks at $3500.  I’m guessing the pre-order tactic is to gauge interest and tailor production.  You can almost buy THREE G9's for the price of one of these.

And would be higher if they could make enough to meet demand.

The launch iteration of the S55 in the F80 M3/4. Jeeeeeeesuuuuusss Chriiiiiiiiiist. My entire family winced and cringed when one drove by while we ate dinner outside in 2015. It was worse than nails on a chalkboard. They improved it later, but I’ve NEVER scrunched my nose and belly laughed harder at an exhaust note

I want one of these $3500 monitors but the effort to avoid listing the price on this page is palatable.  I don’t know if it’s still available but they were offering $300 off for pre-ordering...which is still too expensive by about a grand.  If LG can sell 65" OLED’s for half the price of this thing...

I don’t mind using them as an incentive to replace ICE vehicle fleets with companies that would otherwise be “from my cold dead hands” about their current vehicles BUT, as far as consumer EVs go

If the end result of this is being able to buy an electric, BASE model 3 series that includes all of the hardware for every option and powertrain that I can jailbreak into a loaded M3 equaling electric power, then LET’S GO.

One differentiating factor:  BMW doesn’t need to maintain servers, cellular connections, etc. to make heated seats work.  I had BMW from the early 90s that still had working heated seats 30 years later.  Things like auto-updating maps, connected level 2 driver assistance services, traffic, remote start/lock, etc.

Yeah, it’s a shame it took three paragraphs to confirm who it was by name after the director is mentioned immediately in the subheading.

Toto Wolff:

I do think it’s dumb that if two people bought identical Mach E’s, but one of them makes $81k a year and the other makes $79k that that one of them gets a $7500 tax credit and the other gets nothing. Make it a percentage of the MSRP, say 10% maxing out at $7500 and cut the stupid income limits. Or don’t offer tax

If you’re going to lock the credit at the same amount no matter the cost (under the limits), WHY even have a limit? Putting a upper limit on a hard $7500 no matter the price doesn’t make sense. Making it a percentage of the MSRP with an upper limit DOES make sense, but the $55k and 80k limits are arbitrary bull.

The inline-6 110 in X trim is almost identically spec’d to a V8 Carpathian 110 and costs $30k less. I’m going to go out on a limb and say that, for a reasonable customer, an extra $30k for 2 cylinders, going from 400 to 525 hp and cutting 0-60 from 5.8 to 5.1 isn’t worth it. Hell, I have a i-6 X with every option

Also, how many parents would let their kid near a steering wheel again after already getting 112 in a 55?  I can’t imagine any insurance company even covering that kid, at least not for less than a couple thousand a month.

Exactly, if my kid had already gotten a 112mph in a 55 they wouldn’t be driving until they were no longer my legal responsibility.  Not to mention that, where I live, he would have had his license revoked by the state and could have spent 3 weeks in jail for that speed.

I just did a rough extrapolation from the Bowser set, but yeah, it varies.

$64k and they’d have to deforest an acre for enough paper for the instruction booklet.

The Hummer EV must have been some loophole like the buyer backed out or it got titled to someone at the dealership because GM has made it clear that anyone with a reservation will not be charged over sticker.  Even pointing out that if you reserved one before mid-June, the $6k price hike would not apply to you.

Mercedes of Knoxville had 3 G-wagens, a couple 2020s and a 2021, all used, 10k+ miles, all $100k+ or more OVER original sticker...on used G’s. So $280-300k+. I wouldn’t pay a dime over sticker for a new G63, let alone $100k over the original sticker of a two year old one with 18k miles.
