Haha, I cracked up at that decision. I assume the music team knew what they were doing. (You’re also the only other person I’ve seen mention that detail anywhere.)

Did I find the use of Cat Stevens’ “Father And Son” a tad on the nose for that final montage? Maybe.

Ah, nice, I definitely didn’t catch that.

Oh, shit, I didn’t even see I’m a Virgo finally got a wide release date.

John Mulaney had a funny Weekend Update segment where he described the Mad Men “next time” segments as being like an ESL class. “This is the door. The door is red. Shut the door.”

Yeah, I mean, I guess you can cook something up that’s plausible. But I felt like the finale relied on us to do that far too much. And I just think any real examination into Gene that didn’t come with a pre-ordained conclusion would make it fall apart quickly. And then there’s details like what his son said, which

Ugh, I know, right? I don’t even know if it’s properly available streaming anywhere.

Also, re: that rumor, I checked her upcoming projects on IMDB and the one that’s past the pre-production stage is Fargo season 5. That definitely would’ve taken a significant amount of her time to film, since she’s listed as credited for all ten episodes, but I also don’t know how far along they are in the production

I think it’s telling that, according to Hader, they wrote the first two seasons pretty much by the seat of their pants, while they had a lot more time during COVID to plan out the last two seasons. I think that’s part of the reason the first two were more intense and, strangely, made more sense to me overall— the

Jimmy James is still one of my favorite sitcom characters, ever, and Root one of my favorite performances. (While somehow arguably not even being the best performance on that show. Man, NewsRadio was so good.)

I’m torn. He saw a couple of incidents directly, but I don’t think he saw how frequently or consistently a bully Nate was, and definitely didn’t see how that was growing consistently throughout season 2. Beard did, though, and it’s his job to tell Ted about it, especially once he tries to put a stop to it and that

Hey, maybe a couple of the writers have some serious cheekbones.

I think Keeley is about six years older than Jamie. (See my other comment.)

Keeley is definitely older. In season 1 Keeley tells Rebecca “When I was 18 I dated a 23-year-old footballer. Now I’m... almost 30, and I’m still dating a 23-year-old footballer.”

Totally agree. And if I'm being honest, I'm still not sure what the themes they were trying to express were. I was pretty clear how much Bill Hader was showing off his directorial skills, though.

I started hooting like an idiot when I read the headline, because I so fully agreed with it. It’s a combination of two things: One, separating Keeley from so much of the rest of the cast and the main story just hurts the story and chemistry overall. For two, the character had so much more depth in season 1— as Ajax

Yeah, I was thinking of writing a comment, but most of that second paragraph says what I was going to say. I just feel like they left that complexity or even competence behind this season— most of the time it seems like Keeley is either unaware of what she should be doing at her job, or they’re not even trying to show

Ha, sometimes, yeah. And a lot of the time the comments section just doesn’t load, period. Between how frequently broken the comments section is and the complete lack of moderation around the more unhinged behavior in it, you’d think they just don’t want anyone commenting here. Which is probably true for how VC thinks

Agreed. It felt like it just lost a lot of plausibility in building its events, and the chronology didn’t make much sense. I can see how some of the things that happened could have happened, but it didn’t make much sense how they got there. Even the Gene stuff... Barry tried to kill Jim Moss, two assassins came for
