I’ll add to the people who wanted to see “Leave” on here, although honestly I’m pleased so many people mentioned “Leave” as deserving, at all. (New Adventures in Hi-Fi is my favorite R.E.M. album.)

That would make sense.

One of my favorites. “Leave” fucking rules.

It’s also the theme song to Get a Life, which means it will always have a special place in my heart.

I was kinda hoping something better would develop there, given that on the shoot she seems to show a real working knowledge of the process and have some good ideas. But then it seemed like they never put her onto something she actually understood and instead just had her keep acting like a party girl and not take the

The Jade stuff came close to seeming like she was just taking pity on him, which wouldn’t have been satisfying, but I think they sold it well enough. Her interest was really more after seeing his appreciation for the restaurant and history with it; that showed a sincerity he usually doesn’t have, because he’s so

Ahahaha, I had the same thought (well, not exactly in those words).

You got so mad you had to comment twice, huh.

I think we were supposed to think that was about the psychic appointment, but you never know.

Jane is kind of obviously crazy in a way that should be a huge warning for anything serious, so we’d really need to see more of the good side to buy what Ted said about their dysfunctions fitting right together. That, plus Beard is such a closed book we hardly even know what his dysfunctions are.

The Quibi drop in the show was so funny.

Fantastic show, my first must-watch of 2023. Great interview, too, Matt— I think I’m even a bigger fan of Woliner than I was before, which I didn’t know would be possible.

I don’t know how much of the filming was going on at that point, but that’s when Woliner and Goldman first got in touch, so I assume that at least counts as far as Woliner trying to figure out what this guy’s deal was and how he could tell the story.

That’s Adam Godley as the voice of the ghost, which gives me a good reason, since he’s in it, to recommend The Great.

I wish I spent more time playing catch with you and less time training my body and mind to kill you in a machete fight.”

Ahahah, excellent.

Well, that’s certainly not going to dispel the cocaine rumors.

Really well-plotted, too. Season 2 was one of the best dramatically written seasons of a show I’ve seen in a while— oddly, it’s been mostly comedies that rival it there, like Barry, or how in season 1 of A.P. Bio Jack ends up being the author of his own tragic fate.
