“The conversation was definitely moved forward, even if the issues around the film remain unresolved.”

Okay Nat X. Did you have a Black Panther Cub Scouts meeting today that got you all worked up.

Do you get a merit badge for posting that?

“Like, Tilda just randomly reached out to Margaret”

“I can kind of see where it would be weird for Cho. She gets messaged out of the blue by a celebrity she doesn’t know to talk about... I guess diversity in films?”

“But what did Tilda do wrong?”

“I think my frustration stems more from responses that I see around these comment sections that are to the effect of “Google is your friend, it’s not my job to educate you” when someone has asked a real question (that isn’t inflammatory) because they want to understand something nuanced.”

“It’s even weirder that it seems like Swinton doesn’t have any Asian friends she could’ve asked for their opinions, but had to reach out to a stranger.”

“Would it make sense for me to call up Martha Stewart expecting that there is even a possibility that she should tell me how to bake a cake if I have never ever tried baking anything, or tried to learn about baking, before?”

“When Asian people cite this article as a stunning example of white media bias”

“Margaret puts herself out there as a social commentator, and Swinton approached her - there’s absolutely nothing out of bounds about that. Nothing.”

The rest of the cast is pretty meh.

The rest of the cast is nothing much, though.

Why not Morgan? Especially since the co-lead actress is only 20. I can’t see someone getting particularly bent out of shape over a niece who’s farther into her career, but I can see someone doing so when the niece is just getting started. Like, could you picture Halle Berry’s uncle getting the vapors if you told him

Hot fudge sundae. Like the urinal is one of those tall sundae dishes.

The way Apple botched their podcast app, it’s clear nobody there listens to podcasts while driving.

The problem with NPR is that, while their voices can be soothing (though I find their Washington staff to be heavy on the nasal voices) they are probably talking about things that will be infuriating.

“that plays music going into every break”

I use TuneIn also. It’s a good app, my only complaint is that it is kinda slow to start up.

I could never stand Car Talk. Way too much cackling.
