Konami proving once again that they truly don’t care about their properties. Could you imagine any other entertainment company doing this to their characters? As if Disney would manufacture “sexy little mermaid” gambling machines in Vegas. Konami cheapens and tarnishes their brand. Remember “erotic castlevania” from

She does have a Tie Fighter on her desk. :)

The prequels had wonderful costumes and production design. I have seen many of those outfits in person and the detail and artistry is exquisite.

More anime teenagers?

I feel a lot of times these various “dark” and “bad ass” Star Wars concepts entirely loose track of the franchise look and become video-gamey Matrix knock-offs instead. Even though these are talented artists, you can immediately tell when they don’t hail from ILM’s core team. Artists think they have a handle on SW,

The Animated Movie is still the best Street Fighter film/anime ever made. But I do think that the live action “Assassin’s Fist” was pretty good and in keeping with the 94' film.

I thought Turok hit the nail on the head?

So many amazing Russian cosplayers. The craft and detail is amazing.

That Dune Poster is an amazing illustration. The tanks and all that are fine, but it’s standard video game art... But that poster though is intelligent, beautiful and striking. A really good work of art!

Very off-putting for me in general. Fan service makes me feel like a loser watching it, and that’s not a good sensation to have.

Hardly surprising. Console gaming is a western thing nowadays.

Just shows how important lighting and shaders are compared to just polygons and model detail. It’s getting similar to film. How you light the scene makes all the difference.

Sprite animation is expensive, difficult to make and increasingly niche. But I agree. One of the worlds prettiest 2D games became an ugly 3D title.

Come on man... That’s like looking at “Aliens” and saying that it’s very Halo.

My interest in anime waned after my teenage years, partly because of the infantile and idiotic way women are treated. It’s an issue that gets in the way of enjoying the storytelling.

Sad? Because it was directed by the creator himself, it is pretty much the greatest adaptation is cinema history. The movie is a seminal sci-fi masterpiece... As are the books. We are ridiculously lucky to have both the movie and books. Plus the movie allowed him to figure out the ending of the books.

I actually think the ambiguity is one of the chief strengths of the Akira movie. Saw it as a kid and the mystery of it all had me pondering it for years. I don’t think it’s an incoherent mess, it just leaves out a big chunk of exposition and lets you piece together the meaning based on the clues in the movie. If

I coherently prefer the movie, love the books. Love all that is Akira. I guess in me the internet spawned another awful human being. :)

I prefer the movie over the manga. Why? The kinetic moving visuals and the wonderful pulsating soundtrack. The movie also succeeds in telling pretty much a similar story in a shorter time frame, getting in most of the key thematic elements and political/philosophical messages. There’s certainly a lot MORE story in the
