Bummer... Even the old Dreamcast game featured new compositions from Hirasawa. For me that operatic metal/synth choir thing was a big part of the appeal.

Read the manga or go with the 90s tv-show. The animation is really crude, but you forget that after a while. Give it 3-4 episodes and it’s guaranteed to draw you in. :)

I did enjoy the 90s series despite it’s many faults. It’s vile at times but quite engaging once you get sucked in. I dug the mixture of medieval warfare and Lovecraftian horror. The stellar soundtrack by Susumu Hirasawa did a lot for the atmosphere. The movies were pretty bland and uninteresting however. I’d be

Really hope this long development quagmire doesn’t end Ueda’s career as a game director. I wish we can see more of his amazing fantasy worlds in the years to come. I love his style and vision. :)

Looks like a spiritual successor to Another World/Out of this World.

Tecmo’s profit strategy regarding DOA is very cynical. I wouldn’t be surprised if they get most of their revenue through squeezing a small set of
dedicated fans rather than trying to expand the overall user base.

Oh my god, these are wonderful! Sigh... If only the current movie iteration wasn’t so awful.

This book is almost tailor made to point out the flaws and weaknesses in that generic anime style. All of the re-imaginings are awful.

If anime still looked like this, I would watch it.

Sometimes bad perspective hails from stressed or/and lazy artists, but occasionally a composition can look more interesting if you bend the perspective somewhat, treating the world like flat elements making up interesting shapes. An artist like Jack Kirby would be an extreme example of this. “As long as it looks

Spoken like a true scholar. I wonder what you do for a living?

Yes, you moron. It is interesting because it’s a new perspective. When was the last time you played an african made game? Or an adventure with an all black cast? I’m not expecting a lot of polish from this freshman effort, but I am looking forward to an experience I have not had before, hence I am rooting for this

Oh my god, I need one.

Sure, the best DOA game. The fighting game community certainly speaks highly of DOA5. The guys at EVO is certainly raving about it. I play fighting games, not virtual dating sims or dress ups with the likes of Honoka and Marie Rose. That’s for truly pathetic guys.

Pretty much the argument you’d expect from someone with a profile gif like yours. Don’t worry, no one is coming for your digital boobs.

“Hid it better”..... What does that even mean?

Dude, when DOA2 hit Dreamcast and you slammed someone through a brick wall unto the stage downstairs, it made you forget Soul Calibur in an instanst. DOA2 was a tour de force when it came out. The most detailed character models ever seen in a fighting game and the most interactive stages. DOA3 was an early flagship

You know, I actually remember a time when Dead Or Alive was a well respected blockbuster title promising to deliver blockbuster action and eye-popping graphics. Then they decided to double down on the least interesting element of the game... Tomonobu Itagaki left the company and the Tecmo that delivered cutting edge

Samurai plastic doll meets all the other plastic dolls.

Whatever you say chief.
