Seeing Capcom release these statues just makes me sad. They are more like tombstones than figurines.

You're not worth the time.
Guy immediately brings up Hitler. I can hear this is going to be a reasonable argument... Films like "Dredd", "The Grey", "Dirty Laundry", etc are simply not made without passion given the near insurmountable odds (not to mention years spent) it takes to bring them to reality. Who are you to make a statement on his…
Or Terence Stamp. Did you ever see "The Limey"? He's brutal in that one.
Yeah he's a jerk for giving us free videos. He was a jerk for producing Dredd and The Grey too I suppose? While not every video short is a home run, I think it's great that he's producing these. "Dirty laundry" and "Truth in journalism" were excellent and definitely something we'll never get to see in the theaters.…
"Ruining" franchises. Don't be absurd. While not every video is a home run, I think it's great that he's producing these. "Dirty laundry" and "Truth in journalism" were excellent and definitely something we'll never see in the theaters. Try being grateful instead towards someone who's giving you free entertainment. If…
ROM SPACE KNIGHT!!!
An icon of our culture has left us.
Stay classy Namco!
I think 5 looks great so far. The Street Fighter artwork has had a distinctly cartoony style and comic book proportions ever since Alpha. The Street Fighter 4 models were pretty ugly though in my opinion, but I think Capcom/Dimps has improved upon them significantly. I think both these Ryu and Chun-Li models are…
Capcom borrowing from classic mangas again. I always loved it when Capcom pays homage to the manga greats like Shotaro Inshinomori (Cyborg 009) and Osamu Tezuka.
That's the influence of Capcom illustrator "Bengus". Him and "Akiman" (and Daigo) produced some truly fantastic artwork for Capcom and truly defined the colorful look they sported in the 90s. Sadly he is no longer with the company....And Capcom overall is a shadow of it's former incredible self.
I love it! Like being lost in a Jodorowsky movie! Our usual modern architecture is so terribly dull anyhow so I'd go with anything rather than our soul-less status quo.
Wow. It truly doesn't matter what kind of news comes out. There will always be whiners no matter what. Blomkamp is born to make an Alien film.
Sigh.... Remember when Japanese animators could draw huge Mechs and robots? Like how that was their thing?
Each to his own. Milius admittedly were not a humongous Howard fan, but he did love Vikings and Genghis Khan and treated his movie as sort of an historical epic. I can appreciate the Dungeons and Dragons style hijinks of Destroyer. I can enjoy it like I enjoy something like "Big Trouble In Little China."
Each to his own. I enjoy Howards short stories and I see plenty of recognizable bits and pieces in the movie. And I wouldn't call movie-Conan an idiot. His one really big monologue is the "one stood against many" speech at the end and I think that's suitably Conan (and Milius). His inital conversations with Subotai…
I think I saw the second one first too... I remember being scared by the mirror ape monster. Very Enter the Dragon. :)
Thank you for writing this article Abhimanyu! I feel at times that the original Conan doesn't get the credit it deserves. (Along with John Milius for that matter.) It is a genuinely great fantasy epic.
