somehow we all become smart enough to effectively distribute goods and services without it needing to be organized or without the need for price signalling.

What “point” is this blog post, or my comment, beside? Seems perfectly on point to me. Over and over in the media we’re getting the message that Drumpf shouldn’t be making deals with or trusting such a bloodthirsty monster as Kim - did you hear the poor North Korean people are starving, and have no Freedom of Speech™…
Fuck each and every single apologist for the long and frequent pattern of US playing nice with brutal dictators and other ugly war criminals.
...while unseasonably warm weather could mean reduced sales of summer clothing for a retail company.
This is probably not that complicated, but it feels to me like a bill fucked a double negative and gave birth to whatever this is.
It does help clarify things, yeah. And your proposal makes more sense to me now (not that it sounded like baloney before, I just understand it better). It seems like the biggest difference between what you proposed and I proposed is: with yours, companies would have to come up with their own code to handle “statuses”…
I think it also begs the question (I know I’m using the phrase wrong, sorry): what are “establishment” Dems even winning when there’s so little difference between them and Republicans (on certain economic issues at least)? They’re often winning office, sure, but what part of their legislative agenda is getting pushed…
well that’s shitty of AirBnB. there are also a lot of websites - esp. newspapers - who decided they didn’t want to develop (and moderate?) a comments section, so they farmed it out to facebook. not surprising, but a bummer for people who don’t want a facebook account but do want to weigh in on news at…
I have to admit I’m completely lost at this point. I know very very little about any of this technology. But:
Personal responsibility is falling out of fashion these days
I think the author’s point is that it’s not a very attractive choice for him. The calculus is different for everyone: for some, deleting/quitting facebook is easy, all upsides, no downsides; for others, it’s a pain-in-the-ass, it makes it much harder for them to stay in touch with people and/or groups they’re invested…
Because you can easily leave gmail and keep right on emailing. Similarly you can leave a phone company while having SMS, you can leave Windows while having pretty much system you need. That’s because these are generic communication methods, not within FB-to-FB users.
People cannot perceive of retirement, financial ruin is constantly imminent for most Americans, and there is seemingly no fix - things are only getting worse.
Some of the “establishment” Dems are winning primaries, some aren’t. And I think Paul Blest made a great case yesterday for the fact that 1) even if they don’t win, “progressive” (as opposed to “establishment”) Dems have been successful in “dragging” establishment Dems left, which means 2) a lot of candidates…
I’m also not crazy about the government having a hand in deciding who gets what treatment, when, and where...
weird, now uBlock isn’t blocking those sites.
uh... clicked on the links you provided but uBlock Origin wouldn’t let my browser open them, which makes me worried they’re sketchy. Maybe you have another source of the same/similar info to share?
he did have a chubby for fascism
I don’t have any strong opinion on whether or not Dali was a fascist, but “the evidence” seems less than conclusive:
Sure, those are all factors. I just gotta believe that selling your soul to the devil comes with some pretty nice benefits - in this life at least. Or maybe she didn’t have any soul to sell before she took the job, in which case why would she take the job unless it came with said benefits? Does she just get off on…
