Because they didn’t fire a bunch of women and black people today...

Except that they became big when they didn’t have any sports. They had personalities you didn’t really see anywhere else, and access. The sports came later, when they could afford the rights.

It’s like nobody just eats food after working out.

Yea, or you could just eat food. You don’t need to suplement electrolytes. The average workout isn’t going to lose enough to harm you unless you are also starving yourself. Kind of the same thing with vitamins, unless you have a medically significant deficiency, you get all you need eating a balanced food diet.

I mean, this covers 95% of people tho. Just drink when you’re thirsty. Most of us aren’t running marathons in the desert out of nowhere.

I’d like to know how Deadspin is defining “credibly” here...

You know this isn’t helping, right? You might as well mention that Hockey is still a thing.

Every female NCO I have ever met was a liberal. And I’ve met a few, my mother did 30 years as a medic in the AF, retired a couple summers ago as a MSgt. Still driving around with the Hillary stickers in her car, not far from the Wings. Too bad they don’t run the place.

I mean my black retired Air Force MSgt mother definitely didn’t support Trump, she still has a Hillary sign taped up in her vehicle. I think when most people think military for whatever reason they see young white males. No reason not to expect the politics to mirror the same demographics as the public at large.

No offense, but that’s just ignorant. Black women are overwhelmingly Democrats for historical and rational reasons, with white women it’s much more 50/50 based around things like religion and social values. If not for the Southern Strategy post Civil Rights, many black women would be Republican today, because many are

I mean it made me google them. Didn’t change my personal style enough to make me buy anything, but they got my attention, which was the point. Average advertising converts something like 3% of views into sales. It’s obviously not expected to reach everyone who sees it.

I mean, you gotta ask. It’s the same with marriage. Few people like feeling like the assumption.

Blizzard also switched up SC2 coop mode, and made it VS for the day. It was very unbalanced and chaotic and All You Need is Kill. I remember thinking that that would be a fun idea for a side even at a tournament.

They didn’t use Blizzard assets to create DOTA, just the core concept. Valve’s very existence is largely thanks to taking a 3rd party mod and creating actual full fledged games from them (Counterstrike is just as integral as HL, maybe more so, given the community and competitive nature of it.)

The character itself was not, in any event.

This was safer...

I mean it’s in the name...

No, my theory was about this particular ad campaign. And I don’t know why you would think they weren’t pressed for participants, given exactly what they’re asking people to do. I’d think their choices were heavily limited. Hard time imagining someone who thinks this is the direction to go with advertising would scoff

I think the purpose of the ad is to get you interested in the brand, at which point you will go look at the catalog. They can’t really showcase their style in a single image, but they can create “buzz”. Then maybe you’ll stop by a store.

I think the point is to interest you enough to get you to actually go look at their clothes, not show you everything they make in an ad. That’s pretty counter productive when you consider how little time people look at ads. Ads have different purposes. Some really good ones never show you the actual product. They make
