Prey was such a thoughtful game. You can tell that the designers spent a lot of time thinking about how the space station worked as a system, not just as a set of connected levels for the player to navigate.

The Yiga ambushes, yes. Didn’t realize you’ve played it before.

It’s been a very strong year for gaming for me personally.

Just a warning: one thing you have to do to gain access to the desert Beast triggers an irreversible change in the overworld that can be quite annoying. You might want to consider doing it last.

What Have You Finished This Week?

I doubt people really think “their meats are somehow tainted with heavy metals,” but it really isn’t that big a leap to believe that there is something else unwholesome causing a strange iridescence on your meat products. But a little Selenide Corned Beef does sound Cadmilicious.

What Have You Finished This Week?

Salutations~!

This weekend will mostly be devoted to Xenoblade Chronicles 2, which is coming out tomorrow. I haven’t been this excited for a game in ages; I think it’s because I haven’t played a massive, open RPG in a while.

As despicable his beliefs are, it should not be permissible to prosecute them for their abominable ideas if they have done nothing illegal. It is the slippery slope that leads to the thought police.

The problem with getting old is that when I want something like any of this, I just go out and buy it. The other problem is I now see most of this stuff as junk that’ll just create unnecessary clutter. Probably the only thing on the list that appeals to me at all (that I haven’t already got) is the Filmstruck

Could you elaborate on Getting Over It? I haven’t encountered that, but you’ve got impeccable taste and I’d like to hear more.

On another point ... you really liked Getting Over It that much? I have seen absolutely no discussion of it other than shares of its hilarious promo video, so I am curious why you rate it so highly. I know, I know, I could just install and play it myself, as I own a copy thanks to Humble Monthly, but that would be

Turkey is very, very easy to mess up, so most people are eating what is, in truth, mediocre to bad turkey. And bad turkey is really, really bad.

It’s late November, it ain’t too early to start eyeballing lists.

I think most of us are starting to catch on to that. I work in restaurants so “friends-givings” tend to be a delightful mix of everyone making their best dishes. I’m only subjected to Turkey when I go home, which luckily is never these days. This year I’m making meatloaf and mashed potatoes cause fuck it! In the past,

Ugh, turkey. I’ve substituted it for pork, lamb and duck for the last few Christmases over here in the UK and been much happier as a result, but I expect you in the States have no way of getting round it at Thanksgiving beyond claiming you’ve become vegetarian for a week.

Came down here to pretty much say the same thing about Apostrophe and Overnite Sensation. Really fantastic albums for all the reasons you said. The rest of his stuff is hit or miss (mostly miss) depending on my mood but those two have infinite replay value

Please go on about the depth of lyrics like Dynamo Hum...

One of those casual fans here. Don’t like much of the Mothers stuff (although, I guess I can appreciate it). I do dig Hot Rats and about 1/3 of Joe’s Garage. But I absolutely adore the 1-2 punch of Apostrophe and Overnight Sensation . . . which to me would be all good Zappa distilled with very little bad Zappa. The
