Science fiction is for nerds, and there are no nerds reading the AV Club.

On the docket for this weekend:

With Lucas the pencil is real but everything else is CGI.

Hey, anything that takes that obese Count Chocula Ted Cruz down a peg is solid gold to me.

I remember when the Beatles and the Stones used to get all “motherfucker” and threaten each other on their records. Good times.

Wings are the band the Beatles could have been.

No, Dowd, go back and do it all over again.

It really isn’t, though. Lebowski’s reputation has improved by a huge degree since it came out. Rushmore was critically beloved when it first came out, and its rep hasn’t really diminished. Lebowski is probably more popular now, but they’re both pretty beloved sorta-cult objects. It’s not as if this defies years of

Hey now, you’re an all-star!

Cooking is an art. You can’t stand in front of the Mona Lisa, spit on it, and say that makes it prettier.

Heya Cap, unfortunately, right now, Twitter is kinda the place even if looking at it makes me miserable too.  I’ll be around in the Discord, though, keeping in touch and talking games.

What Have You Finished This Week?

Thanks, Matt. You and the team have done a great job keeping the site running through various evolutions (reintegration into AV Club, the infamous Kinjapocalypse, etc.), and yes, I’m sure the site and the community will keep going strong on the foundation you’ve built. Thanks for all your hard work. So what’s next for

Goddamnit, Wolfman, you’re making me tear up here. Really nice ode to Gameological and Matt. I wish I could upvote this a hundred times.

I wrote a long thing about Ōkami in preparation for the post. I’ll post it later, because I feel a strong need to write a bit about how this site has affected me. I also tried to post this earlier, but Kinja simply refused to accept it’s posting. If the earlier one somehow comes up, I’ll flag it for deletion.

I finished Halo 2 this week, and was surprised at how much I enjoyed the story. The first game (which I played years and years ago) has a couple of neat twists, but overall I remember it being pretty straightforward. So the way Halo 2 delves into the various factions of the Covenant and the Arbiter’s arc really sucked

I’m still mad about Arkham Knight doing that ending crap. I don’t mind 100%ing a game if it’s doable but all that stuff just for the real ending is too much.

Old World Blues is my second favourite DLC of anything, right behind ME3's Citadel DLC.

I discovered a fish and tried to name them Osama fin Laden and the game wouldn’t allow it. It’s been dead to me ever since. I killed that goddamn fish out of spite though.
