This car was bid to $12K last summer and didn’t sell (RNM).

But the times are changing, and when that happens it’s people like these that get left behind without much to show for the decades they spent doing what they were asked to do.

It is a niche vehicle but such machines can have purpose. Many “sportman” drag racers/teams haul heavy enough trailers which exceed the practicality of a 1 ton dually.

This. I work for a company making several components for the F-35s and have been talking to the engineers at Lockheed and Rolls Royce for years. These aircraft are amazing.

That’s my car. Thanks for the compliment.

An awesome thread on the cutaway drawings:

I have one of those snot-green 2018 Civics. With a manual transmission. picked the color for exactly the reasons stated and I get a lot of compliments on it.

My 2018 Energy Green Civic Si because anything but blackwhitegraysilvercharcoalprimer.

Cutting the roof would have no affect on the rattles. The mini-Blazers and mini-Broncos are built on the full frames of S10s and Rangers, not unibodys.

This isn’t about steel vs aluminum. It’s about forging vs casting. A cast steel wheel will shatter the same way as any other cast metal. It might be a more interesting comparison if the aluminum wheel was forged (like the Alcoas on many factory stock truck applications).

Saw one parked on the street in Monterey in 2017.

I just bought a 2018 Civic Si in Energy Green.

I’ve been to Monterey Car Week eight times over the past fifteen years. It’s always amazing the diversity of cars to be seen.

Saw this one at Tucson Cars and Coffee a few weeks ago.

NP but does anyone proofread these things before publishing?

This was on display at last year’s Historics at Laguna Seca.

So no more air travel? No more transoceanic shipping? Personal transportation is only a part of fossil fuel consumption.
