I can’t believe millihelen is over and Jane Marie is leaving (or worse, being pushed out). This is by far one of the best Jezebel’s sub-blog, I love, love Deep Cuts, the 24 hours Beauty Diaries, the mall makeovers stories, the talk about make-up and beauty routines, the tips and tricks...and of course the best part is

Right? One of the reasons my husband wanted to marry me was because I’m so NOT kind, loving or tender. He’s the emotional one with lots of feelings.

Stop enabling that behavior. Stop showing him, or demand that he take a photo and tack it up above his desk or draw a diagram or something. Or better yet don’t even suggest a solution to it. If he lived in a house with all men, he wouldn’t pull that shit.

Because men don’t see the emotional work. Women are socialized from birth to recognize and respond to it. Men are not. The effort to bring men up to speed is exhausting. You talk and talk and talk until you’re blue in the face, hoping for one *aha* moment, and when it happens, they expect a freaking trophy because

The finding stuff around the house is right up there on my list of pet-peeves.

They do, well spotted. I wouldn’t say this is nonsense at all. This is what feminism is trying to help. Since emotions are seen as “girly” and “unmasculine”, men suffer. If we break down this gender divide and let boys know it’s okay to feel things then that would be awesome.

As a guy can I say this is nonsense. How about the emotional stain on men who aren’t allowed to show emotion because they have to be masculine and strong? I am not saying better or worse, but the issues of gender expectations go both ways.

I’ve been either crying or on the verge of tears for two days now. I’m glad this woman survived to bear witness. I mourn, with all civilized society, for those who did not survive. May her words bring some measure of comfort to their loved ones, in comfortless times.

I’ve had pronounced forehead wrinkles since learning to worry about being bullied every single day at school for being fat, pretty much from 3rd grade onward (still fat, still worrying all the dang time). I always thought I might do something about them, but then I’d never be able to do The People’s Eyebrow, which I

OMG, Gaga sang like she was channeling Julie Andrews and Julie Andrews was RIGHT THERE? I knew she was raising her game with Tony Bennett - she should never go back to her old shenanigans.

I had no idea she could sing like that.

i watch Oscars for all the pretty dresses.

There's a difference between asking "Who are you wearing?" and "did you do any special diet or fitness routine to prepare for this role/tonight?" It seems only fair to the designers to ask who made the dress, as long is that's not the only question they ask.

The red carpet is all about the clothes for me. I often watch it close-captioned so I don't have to hear the yammering but I can read who the designer is.

Too bad for Harry. Just missed the opportunity to get himself into a relationship with English royalty.

Anybody else think Harry's a little "frat boy" for Emma?

I think this is my new favorite thing on Kinja.
