I’m sorry that happened to you. Your response was incredibly brave.

I was both surprised and not surprised when I saw the data on how common this is.

I saw people talking about this last week on Twitter. So many dudes clapped back with “it ain’t rape tho” nonsense that my head exploded. Even when I post an article about someone actually getting convicted for this, I kept seeing “nah” responses.

It’s also a thing in the UK.

Oh God no. She’s an amazing women and would absolutely not deserve the shit show the press would put her through.

It seems like every time this happens (and, yeah, appropriation happens a hell of a lot) there’s the important admonishment, but we miss out on the teachable moment. Yeah, it sucks to wear a Native American headdress (or war bonnet) without even the slightest care for the spiritual, social, or political significance

Who is Rita Ora?

I feel like I should be more angry about this than I am...

It undermines your conclusions considerably to have such a tainted sample.

How many straight men who were raped as children did you interview?

So you`re saying that the tupi-guarani people and german-brazilians share “a common and distinctive culture, religion, language”? Really?

She’s earnest. My generation (gen x) decided earnestness was a bad trait. Coincidentally, we’ve created a world where everyone is depressed and no one can trust anyone.

Was your failed audition for Titus Andromicus really that bad? Looks like it.

That’s the defense attorney doing his job. You think that somehow, because it was an act of civil disobedience, that he just gets to not do his job? This is public. If people who may be future/potential clients see him not doing his best work, that could affect his career.

That doesn’t mean, particularly in the current legal climate, that you don’t get a defense attorney.

Also where does it state that because you are a celebrity, you are required to voice your opinion on political matters. That’s like hearing someone is saving up for retirement and then you telling them “Wait you’re saving up money now, so only you can use it later on? When there’s people and groups that need it

Yeah! Great point! There would have been NO difference for POC between a McCain/Palin administration and the one we got! Thanks for fuckin’ NOTHIN’, Tina!

Ah! So: changing white minds is hard, therefore she shouldn’t bother trying.

Yeah! Great point!

Yes, fundraising for the ACLU and trying to effect change is pointless and dumb.
