I get this interview from a PR perspective, but does anyone not actually see the difference between what she wrote and what Lorde wrote? You have a million ways to paraphrase her statement in order to obscure the fact that her actual words were awful. You pretend in a dozen ways that context will transform stupidity…

Angela is definitely the best writer at The Root, and I think it’s obvious that she is going to have a brilliant career. I hope we get to benefit from her reporting here for a while longer before she moves up to bigger and more important jobs.

Literally nobody is mentioning the fact that the alternative to Trump’s decision was likely even worse than this new policy. The courts would have put DACA on hold immediately which would mean no six month grace period for renewal. It’s ridiculous that everyone is acting like Trump just decided to do this on Tuesday…

I feel like no one I’m reading is giving any credence to the fact that this policy change was pushed for by Republican states and was the alternative to the courts stopping all DACA renewals immediately. If Trump had not made this policy change, isn’t that what would be on the immediate horizon?
