Agreed.  People who don’t actually do this sort of work never know what it should cost.  After they tweak the prototype and cover the development costs, I could see these being in the $4-5K installed range.

The other item that figures big on this is that there is a disturbing lack of mental health treatments.  If you combine that with the stigma that still surrounds mental illness, you get people getting killed just because they are ill.
