Whenever people say that, I remember the Safeway next to where I worked who refused to get self-check machines. They had 10 checkout lanes, of which AT MOST 3 were manned by a cashier at any given time.

My dream profession: idiot-testing products. Because it takes a special kind of genius to identify exactly why something doesn’t make sense.

I like to think the baby would also be confused.

The fact that other people avoid self-check just makes it go that much quicker for the rest of us.  And the kinks have been ironed out, mostly.
