I feel redeemed for remembering Shadowrun
How did I go my whole life without using the phrase “comfortably dumb”?
I love you. Not enough stars for this comment.
We think the same. Also that is such a hilarious idea she absolutely would do it.
It wouldn’t be a Grimes thread without at least one “who the fuck is Grimes?”
I am taking time out of my day to promote your days-old comment. That’s how little it matters to me.
This deserves waayyyyyy more stars. Shame on everybody.
I might just be tired or high or dehydrated but was that an obvious Venture Bros. reference? Or not at all? Either way I’m embarrassed.
I currently have healthcare via the exchange. It’s cheap compared to what some people pay but barely affordable for someone on my income. And people have told me I’m stealing money out of other peoples’ pockets.
I guess you didn’t buy Dany’s (chillingly calm) explanation that it was strategic, because otherwise Cersei would regard her mercy for civilians as a weakness?
Definitely V, based on the expression on Eve’s face when she sees it.
As soon as he touched her, her eyes said “you’re dead”. For me it was a chillingly satisfying moment as it had become apparent what type of person he was.
Same here. It’s all style. Fortunately the pace (and the music, and the shot composition, and editing) helps compensate for the show’s breezy handling of the mechanics of the events depicted. The next situation presents itself too quickly to finish nitpicking. (Could be true of the novels as well, but I can’t comment)
Julian’s murder gave the audience a moment to feel less sorry for one of Villanelle’s victims (perhaps aside from the 2 other assassins she killed in the first season). She was, whether she cared or not, vindicating HIS victims, which was kind of satisfying.
OT but I swear Lindy and Kirsten could be twins...
Good points brought up here. If only people in general were more inclusive in their recognition of different styles of femininity. For example, allowing that a woman who shaves her head is feminine. After all, pants were once considered exclusively male attire.
You’re right, their similarity is pretty superficial. People have been riffing on the Pixies for years and now they have several generations of fans, which they completely deserve. I think I just associate that time period (early to mid 00's) with a wave of bands who seemed to be almost re-enacting bands from 10+…
Papasan chairs suck because they don’t make them like they used to. The ones in my parents’ family room came from the 70's and possibly not from the U.S. and I would travel back in time to find some. They were much larger in diameter, the frames were made of solid metal.
Amen. Before Ministry or NIN, there was Killing Joke. And Legendary Pink Dots.
My guess is he was being hyperbolic. Either way, the Smiths are definitely remembered and appreciated by folks who were yet unborn when he said that.
