Nice, but I have a feeling he's low on the horseman waiting list.

Hee hee! I actually admit it's not a sound analogy, I was just trying to be quippy. I'm aware that lions are sexist! The male lets the women do all the work and he gets first dibs on teh foods. (Although he is kinda responsible for protecting the pride by intimidating rivals and so forth.)

Anyway if people are looking for models in animal behavior to support the gender-breadwinner relationship, there's always lion(esses)...

If I ever had a hymen I was utterly unaware of its existence and subsequent "loss". I remember having to look it up to even find out what it was, and this was after several years of being sexually active. I am super creeped out that there is such thing as "hymen restoration" surgery. I guess you have to believe in

Missionary is mocked as being an unquestioned standard. Maybe I'm bitter because I've never ever orgasmed that way after decades of trying, so congratulations to you for winning the sexual lottery, but it really sucks when "sex" means missionary to so many folks and meanwhile I'm excluded from the lovely experiences

As a lifelong busty lady who always secretly wished I could dress like a skater, I am jealous. You are living the dream.

My issue with uniboob has less to do with the appearance than the fact that my boobs being smushed together = increased area of skin on skin contact, generating an obscene amount of sweat even if I'm not working out. I hate the feel of it and it gets pretty rank. (sorry for that image)

That's awful. It does really seem like it compounds the damage of being abused when you think that you're irreversibly changed for the worse, as if it wasn't already bad enough. I feel like the term 'virgin' is really loaded and potentially harmful, as well. I pretty much cringe whenever I hear it, whether it's

Exactly my thought! Very praiseworthy.

I could just be nuts but I think his dad looked pretty swank back in his day.

"we do know how creepy he is from the whole Soon Yi thing" Even by the time that happened, I was utterly unsurprised. His work has historically romanticized older man/teen girl pairings, and don't even get me started on his patronizing obsessions with female sexuality (where he is always the subject). Maybe I'm

I had a friend who pointed out that while victims of crush porn have horrible deaths, animals raised as livestock have horrible lives. My reaction is to distance myself from it as much as realistically possible.

What about them? If we are to believe the "born this way/sexuality is hardwired" rhetoric, the BEST someone can do is find an outlet for their desires that doesn't harm anyone. We have inhibitions and empathy to prevent us from acting on harmful impulses.

Re ladyboners — I remember when I was younger, I was more embracing of the (I think, cynical) postfeminist turnabout-is-fair-play attitude that supported objectification of males, but not so much anymore. Adding the racial element also smacks of entitlement and really rubs me the wrong way.

Yeah I don't see how some posters see this article as an invitation to jump in and express their own racially-based dating biases. Only a few of them have attempted to tie them in with the issues raised by the OP.

I managed to sprain my ankle 3x in 2 years, and I don't even wear heels. I am pretty sure a stilt/pogo stick combo would be safer for me than these.

That's all valid. I just bring it up because I believe the fear of being overpowered influences how women respond to men in many situations, not just socially. I don't see examples of men threatened in the same way by women (fear of being attacked by female strangers, for example). I know that pretty much any guy,

I am honestly not trying to provoke, just curious. I notice people describing scenarios of men being raped by women when rape equals "a woman who mounts a guy who says he doesn't want to have sex, but goes along with it anyway because she persuades him physically or he just gives in for whatever reason." Obviously

I think usually when guys say that they're talking about women who are naturally attractive anyway. If she's pretty, of course they're not gonna care if she's wearing sweats and flip flops and just rolled out of bed. If anything that probably makes her seem more accessible.
