I honestly think it’s worse than that. People react to him as “too far” but then the less explicitly insidious stuff is completely normalised because they don’t want to talk about that.
I’m sure Tate is a bad influence, but yeah... if the rest of society wasn’t already normalizing so much of what he was saying he wouldn’t have a chance. Unfortunately, people see so much other media that implicitly supports what he’s saying that for people who are young and impressionable, it’s not a red flag when he…
Fair enough. I didn’t know if the one in Granite City was still active.
The thing about my home state is this. We are blue because of Chicago.
I think that particular problem belongs in the category “Don’t care. Go fuck yourself. Gotta get back to work.”
I was looking for this comment or I was going to make it. Elon is a gross human being, but there is no reason to comment on his physical appearance.
wait so we say body positivity, but also body shame elon musk? seems the entire article is saying “ew, he has a weird torso”. a bit of a double standard no, jezebel?
That’s how the death panels start. You know, the ones conservatives keep worrying about.
I feel like vomit-screaming and then spontaneously combusting.
I know I’m not the only one who’s hoped that someday Chris Evans and I would bump into each other.
How to tell me you didn’t read the study without saying “I didn’t read the study”. The entire thing is focused on trans athletes and its main purpose is to measure athletic ability as well as muscle mass, lung capacity, oxygen levels in blood during exercise, time-to-failure, bone density, grip strength and other…
I used to believe that I could compete against men. I’ve always been bigger-boned and stronger than other women. I think my doctor described me as an athena type or whatever, broad shouldered and whatnot. I dominated boys in elementary school and I was rough with the roughest. I’d beat up on my little brother and…
If your bar for danger is dissenting opinions then no place is safe so long as it's occupied by anyone who thinks.
This. The extreme left seems hell-bent on destroying its own, . The GOP counts on it. So many allies are afraid to say a goddamn word about this issue, not because they’ll be attacked by the right (always laughable), but because they will be savaged by the extreme left if they say a single word wrong. It’s not helping…
Come on. It’s like you’re not even trying to support your own argument. You might as well just play the everyone who disagrees with me is a bigot card now if you’re not even going to try to make a good faith argument.
Nothing needs to be re-researched. We already know someone with Male chromosomes will be at an advantage compared to someone with female chromosomes. This science was settled a long time ago. Will there be outliers? Of course. But science isn’t about outliers. It’s about trends. And the settled trend is,…
It’s not transphobic to question the fairness of trans women competing against biological women. That’s called critical thinking or debate. It’s not inherently transphobic to have questions about something. Saying that is just a method to shut down meaningful debate.
If it’s not about winning medals, then couldn’t trans women just compete in the mens division and nullify any arguments?
Then the root of the issue is not anti-trans but anti-fairness and should be treated as such.
You just gave the case for the abolishment of all women’s sports.
