And there’s also the face the closest this movie comes to requiring previous knowledge is a tiny reference to Secret Invasion. Otherwise, the movie knows the normies didn’t have time to see/remember Captain Marvel, Ms. Marvel and WandaVision going in.

You’re going to see a lot of people realizing they slept on this. It wasn’t perfect but it was still a ton of fun.

I thought Quantumania was fine-- nothing particularly special nor terrible, just fine.  I saw a comment somewhere that it was a good Marvel movie but a bad Antman & Wasp movie, and, honestly, that tracks.

UGH Wanted to see the cut musical sequence in the deleted scenes. Also will stand by this movie, yes it had flaws and on the weaker side of the other films but 1) had great performances, 2) good editing with the teleporting fights, 3) legit laughs 4) Moved Carol’s story forward from the end of the first movie (glad

That’s not the point. Hot Fuzz also has a large bodycount, but the film is still funny as hell. Here it’s mostly just depressing.

Spirited and Violent Night are two movies that are both better than they have any right to be. There’s a much worse version of each movie that is satisfied with its premise and hits the rote plot beats and is forgettable. But both of them really try to be the best version of the premise and it elevates the movies a lot

Now playing

Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special is strangely absent. It starts with a great new Christmas tune:

I’d put it in the top half of MCU movies, though it also seems like we’re not going to agree on this, as I put Iron Man 3 very high up, likely in the top 5 or at least top 10.

that’s already ironheart

I’ve very much had the same thought myself - the answer I always come back to is that Symphony of the Night was just so damn good that later developers were at a loss of what else to do and just phoned it in.

This really has never been true. The MCU rewards you if you’ve seen it all and really rewards you if you’ve seen it multiple times.

counterpoint, you SHOULD know what happened in the first season if you want to follow the second season

Because of the way the AI works, it is vulnerable to inadvertent art theft and copyright infringement. If a company does not have an established and disclosed policy on what they use AI for, they should not be using it.

Nah. “AI” is not a tool, it’s just a shitty artist.

Yeah for sure, when this stuff was new it was amazing, but now it all looks the same and generic, soulless.

Yeah, and it looks derivative. There’s nothing original or signature about it. This is stuff I’ve seen a thousand times before, and usually executed better. I hope that brands eventually come to realize how lame they’re being.

Didn’t really watch Pee-Wee Herman, but I’ll never forget his part in Buffy the Vampire Slayer

Barbie didn’t do anything to Ken, it wasn’t her fault that he decided to tie his self worth to her approval. Barbie wasn’t even interested in Ken romantically, as she kept telling him throughout the movie.

I liked how the only masculine character to reject toxic masculinity and projection, Alan, was also the only person who knew how to fight. All the Kens acted tough but didn’t understand what fighting was or meant.

It’s surprisingly decent. Wasn’t expecting that either. Huh.
