I think unfortunately most people consider any actor that isn't a celebrity a struggling actor. I have a number of friends who are working actors and make their income only from that, but are complete unknowns, and I'd say they are wonderfully successful in that they get paid to do what they love!

Why haven't they bought a gun safe? I would think that the cost of replacing guns, which aren't cheap, would be worth the cost of a $500-700 safe. Plus, you can keep important documents, jewelry, etc in them, as well! My dad has always had a good safe, and uses it for more than just guns.

That's a great story! We're designing my ring right now, and I'm using opals from earrings that I got from my dad as a kid, and the diamonds from my mom's original engagement ring, which she offered to me, since she has an upgraded ring now. I love the idea of using stones from family!

I was raised in the church and from what I can recall, I think it's more in reference to an actual pearl, and the value of them and the difficulty of obtaining a pearl, hence the value of the new doctrine and the difficulty with which it came about. That's actually how I got the earrings from my dad. When I was younger he had a ring with a big opal and the stone cracked, so he had the pieces made into earrings and a necklace. The necklace was unfortunately stolen. I'll talk to the jeweler and see if he has any recommendations!
