As I was reading this article, I couldn't help but think of what I read on The Gloss yesterday about women being called crazy. I would bet that the men who talk about being creep-shamed are the exact same men who describe a woman as crazy when she is acting in a way that THEY don't like. It's a great article: [thegloss

I read it more as, from her perspective he didn't need to ask her permission, rather than she was already going to give it to him.

I always get a bad taste in my mouth when the idea of one partner not being a breadwinner is called prostitution.

It's because Gawker is basically trolling it's readers at this point, and are being total douchebags. I've decided to stop giving that site any pageviews. It's some sort of weird power trip, I think.

Honestly, it seems odd to me that the money he earns isn't considered "family" money, and you have an allowance*. Why do you guys have that arrangement? Was it his choice, or the best compromise for your situation? Would you change it that you had access to all of his money if given the choice?

I taught her daughter dance for a summer at the summer camp she attended, and so I met Vanessa during parents weekend. (There were lots of celeb kids there, parents weekend was like being at a movie premiere.)

It's only nepotism if their parents are the ones who hired them, or had a direct influence in them getting THIS job. I don't think a drummer had a lot to do with the casting decisions of an HBO show.

Even if the men in the videos are getting smacked or punched, it's still encouraging more men to go and touch more women without their permission.

I was (and still am) the kind of person who doesn't wear makeup, live in jeans and tshirts, and wears my hair down and straight.

He could only choose a woman if she was one of the unlucky souls who God chose not to bless with children, because then she's allowed to pursue other careers, since she failed at the first and most important "mommy" career.

It happens to the best of us :)

My sister had a baby as a 23-yr-old with the emotional equivalent of a 14-yr-old. My parents are firmly against abortion and she was going to give the baby up for adoption, but due to circumstances with the father, kept the baby. Through the first 4 years of my (darling!) nephew's life, my mom would say, I love him to

Didn't the post say she DID work at Hooters?

I would argue that much of the binge drinking in college IS due to peer pressure, whether directly or indirectly. Yes, in Greek organizations the problem is much worse and very direct.

I agree that that is often the case with members of the Greek system, but isn't crazy hard partying and binge-drinking also the norm for regular college students? I was under the impression it was an epidemic across the board these days, not just in the Greek system.

Well, when I got to college I pledged a sorority because I was an out-of-state student at a school with a mostly commuter student population, and it was difficult to makes friends when the freshman class came in with their groups of friends from high school.

Yeah, I had a very similar experience with the Greek system at my school. I was in a sorority, but people in the Greek system were the minority. It was definitely not the social center of the university. But I had a few friends that went to places were NOT being in a house meant not being a part of the social system.

Well, but if you think about it, every single era of human history is filled with some kind of tragedy and horror. So...if we want to avoid that, we'd have to stop enjoying the good things about every era ever.

Ah, ok, I was speaking from personal experience, as my dude and his ex make roughly the same amount, so I just assumed (as did he) that his payment was considered to be half of the monetary needs for the little dude. But I suppose their situation, as far as income, is not the norm.

That's what I was wondering. It would seem like it would make sense for the CPS to review their situation again, and....well, I don't know what would need to be done with a newborn baby. Make the mother live in some kind of halfway house, so the baby wouldn't be in danger? I don't even know. Such a sad situation.
