Old menus are fascinating to me. Sometimes bookstores or antique stores will have them, and it's interesting to see how tastes and trends with food come and go over the years. I had an idea to frame some I found on eBay and hang them in my dining room, but alas, my slackness took over and that idea died.

There was a story on NPR a couple of years ago about how some of the staff ordered and cooked a whole peacock from a recipe published in the 1600s. Apparently you could order it from a guy who specializes in that sort of thing.
