If you’re going to do this, do a complete and original restoration with a completely rebuilt Toyota drivetrain which will outlast the Camaro drivetrain by 150K miles. Having had three Taurus wagons as company cars, I have to take the unpopular line and defend them. Each one drove for 100k miles with no real problems and were safe, roomy and comfortable. Compared to the crap that GM was putting out in 1988 they drove well too.
