I did try to read the first book. It was so bad I gave up, and now I think everything associated with it is absurd. So many of my friends loved the series, and I think it's about as sexy as an ice cold shower in public.

I watched all the Star Wars movies with my daughter to get ready for The Force Awakens over the holidays (in IV, V, I, II, III, VI order) and I have to say that the prequels were not as bad as I remembered. I think time has dulled the crushing disappointment I felt when they came out.

I very much liked the prequels. I grew up with them and they mean just as much to me as the original three so please stop talking for everyone like you are the arbiter of truth.
