Right. His point was, Catholic schools don’t have to follow the same rules as public schools, but in many cases compete against them for state championships, which is unfair.

At least where I’m from, Catholic schools can recruit players for their teams regardless of what religion they believe in. Creates a bit of lopsidedness.

EXACTLY. “Well it’s not my kind of Christianity, so that’s not my problem”. But all Muslims should be responsible for a group of douche bags that misinterpret, or take a violent interpretation of, their holy book.

This is the thing with Christians though. It’s always “well that’s only some Christians” or “I’m Christian, but I don’t do any of these things and I love Muslims”. Well, ya know what, tough fucking shit. All of these articles are Christians “taking a stand” against something they never bother to understand.

I keep Twitter with the AP, BBC, and Reuters along with a few local sports columns. I just use it for news.

I can’t believe this hasn’t been said yet, unless I missed it but...

I’ve never had a driver require one way or the other, but usually when I walk up to the car I ask or do a quick point and let them decide. Am I weird?

People are just that, people. If the driver doesn’t want to talk, that’s fine. But if go into a situation like this completely insistent on not talking, you’re just denying yourself some human experience IMO. To each their own I guess.

That’s good advice. Maybe I’ll start a blank one now that my old profile has been wiped out. My number one reason for doing it was to just have everything wiped clean. I’ve had it for 14 years and I wanted the old me off Facebook.

Do you have people sit in the front or the back? If they tell me to sit in the back, I don’t feel obligated to talk, but when they ask you to sit in the front, it’s kind of weird not to talk.

I had a great convo with a Lyft drive the other day. He was from Yemen and moved here to go to school. He was attending Eastern Michigan University to be a pilot. He seemed almost a little scared to tell me because he’s a middle eastern guy going to school to be a pilot... which obviously can sound weird post 9/11.

I almost feel a certain amount of shame in the fact that Facebook was such a distraction from my mental state. Something so stupid and trivial as an app on a computer. My ancestors would be ashamed of the things that “stress” me out.

I deleted my Facebook account (not deactivated, deleted) and it was one of the most freeing things I’ve done in quite some time. This loop was always kicked off for me by Facebook, and it feels so refreshing to not feel like I “need” to look at social media anymore. My mental health has improved significantly.

The only car left in the Buick lineup that is an Opel rebadge is the Regal...

The point was, if you put a brand new Vette in the fleet of those cars, it will be trashed quickly. It’s not financially feasible for Maven to keep cars like that in the fleet because they will be repairing and replacing so much that they won’t make any money.

I work at GM as well. This is part of the reason the Ambassador Program is now gone.

The problem with a program like this is that no one treats those cars with respect when they don’t actually own them. People treat rental cars bad enough, but performance cars? Even worse.

If you’re driving a 3,000 - 6,000 pound death missile at 80 MPH and you aren’t paying attention, I’d say $500 is a cheap price to pay for your willingness to kill yourself or someone else.

Driving while black is an immediately pull over in Grosse Pointe and Berkley, especially if it’s dark out. It’s kinda sad actually.

Man, people don’t even use them when turning corners. You’ll just be driving along and all the sudden someone slams on the brakes to turn. And people here don’t understand that the gas pedal on a car goes down further than just 1 centimeter.
